this is a brilliant gem hidden for a long time. the editing is horrible but kudos for posting this video. anyone knows where to find sp storytellers dvd??
The timing thing is cool but it's just weird at first. Doesn't really seem natural. After you get used to it though it's really cool how you did it though.
I shot the video for a project I did for Caroline and CMJ. It was shot with one camera (a Sony BVV-1 three tube on Beta tape) and one take. There are no interviews just a thank you to CMJ and others given by Iha. They end by rocking out with Godzilla. This was shot during a tour Smashing Pumpkins did with The Red Hot Chili Peppers in October of 1991.
@maxwellhudson This is beautiful I was born in 82 and SP was my favorite band throughout the 90s and will always be the most important musical influence in my life. I was searching for the recorded version but this one is just perfect. Thank you.
@SlickyRicky82 i remeber this it came to public television in Los Angeles on Ch 7 during an interview with Nirvana late night coo you brought this "beta" that's funny haven't heard it in awhile

Oh my god can I get the rest of this show, and they were all so cute back then. Hippies they grow up so fast.

Love Smashing Pumpkins! <3 But it feels kind of odd hearing them like this because it sounds like a hippie circle or something. :)

@KaptenHubbaBubba I was a fan when they were little pissed off hippies, listen to Gish and you'll hear the 1960s hippie influence.

The editing is good, but those pauses are indeed awful.

Oh I am so sick! I saw them in '91 with RHCP and PJ at MSU.
Did you see D'arcy pics from last week - can't post a link here I guess.
I am so sad I feel like I am going to throw up.

I happen to think the editing really fits the song, you get a feel for the sunny autumn day along with the band and song.

@ellamennop the pauses are seriously infuriating
sackattack3813 1 year ago 2
@sackattack3813 Yes, all those stops makes it hard to watch. Should of just had a continuos shot,
voirdire 1 year ago
how about a version without the pauses? infuriating is too mild of a word to describe.
fwerfwater 2 years ago 4
What's with all the pauses? It's like an early 80s video and not in a good way.
But thanks for the video.
