Larry, I think if you go into Settings > Messages > Repeat Alert turn to off then those alerts will stop popping up more than once. In your video even though you were in the Beejive app and then closed it, the badge still shows a new alert which is why you were notified a second time about the IM.

That's only available on the 3G S.

AOL just updated AIM for iPhone and has finally added push notification. I like free myself. Looks good though.

AIM only does AIM, BeeJive does like 7 IM clients.
