i want to order a 150 but now they are saying there is a ban or something

does this mean i cant buy one... or is it nothing

  • You can still buy one.

  • just buy it at Deal Extreme

  • @paultje162

emeraldpointer, com is cheaper and real good quality. Not those overmarked low power toys.

  • buy a laser module from deal extreme they can ship those

  • smokey room?

  • read description..

  • yes

  • is the 200mw from dealextreme visible in midair like that in that kind of light? if not than he probably did that when his parents were frying a steak er somethin

  • Yeah all green lasers are visible on the dealextreme website, infact i think every green laser is visible

  • i got the xact same i wasna no if it burns ur skin i think it just stings

  • it burns more the darker ur skin, haha, racist laser...

but if you put a black sharpie dot on someone and stick it to the dot and turn it on they jump pretty far back, lol XD

IE: black absorbs more light = more energy absorption = more burn

  • shine it on the camera

  • it will burn some thing to record the vid with

thats a stupid question you asked

  • go look them up at dealextreme.. 150mw for 39 dollars.. -

  • then thats not 150mw but 20mw lol.

150mw costs hundreds for the best quality

    150mw to 200mw

  • just curious if thats a true 150mW or a cheapish one?

  • Comment removed

  • Is the dot safe to look at with no protection?

Not like anyone's going to aim it into their eyes but what happens if you just stare at the dot on the wall?

  • @Niohimself

Don't worry these lasers are all perfectly safe... you just have to wear a condom

  • Jajajajajajajajajajaja thx for the laught i was boring

  • jajaajajajajajaj

  • shine the laser on something white then hold a piece of paper with your back to the dot and look at the reflection from the dot on the paper

  • wait..... is this what it looks like in person? or do you have to add smoke or fog to see the beam that bright?

  • is it dangerous if you put it on your eyes

  • yeah fairly. Wont blind you but it does permanenant damage apparently

  • @crackedcookies green lasers do have ir light if they dont have a filter for this in there.... and yes they will blind you!

  • of course you can not see the beam directly,,,it is dangerous

  • @sunnyatscot lol

  • @sunnyatscot a laser that is 10x less powerfull than this will cause permanent retinal damage way faster than you can blink (retinal damage CANNOT be fixed, you will see black spots for the rest of your life)

  • if i shine it on a crackhead will it burn him?

  • the manual clearly states its powrerful enough to go over 2 inches

  • @momo261086 what?!?!

  • @momo261086 all i can say is lol

  • can u burn a peice of shit wit that

  • Yes it can burn people.

  • @thutness yes it can i know a few pecies of shit oh i mean people id like to burn

  • kool just 1 kilowatt away from destroying a tank.so good luck to the damn ppl that make those rip off lasers a 1 watt laser should cost 650bucks idk why they make it 2,200dollars....oh well i guess they are con artists

  • Its like a light sabre.

  • thats fuckin crazy

  • hi, what brand is this laser? i wanna get 1,

for those who going to buy 1 on ebay, DONT, they're scams 240mw = less than 50

  • I'm not aware of the brand. The problem with ebay is that there are a lot of scams, but all you have to do is not be stupid about it. If theres a 200mW laser going for £20 then somethings not right. Mine cost me just under £100, so you will have to look at something around that price

  • would you mind letting me know where u got it from?

  • I got mine from ebay. I just made sure that the seller has perfect feedback and doesnt sell anything thats 240mW as youve already pointed out.

  • uhh what happens if u tuch this coz a freind of mine put 1 in his eye well pointed to it and got blind

  • If you touch the beam for long enough (about 3 seconds) it starts to sting... I really wouldn't advise pointing it at eyes, but they don't usually blind people, just cause grey spots in their vision.

  • that one is awsome

  • ok thanx :)

  • are these legal in the uk?

  • You're not going to find them in shops and i think that technically they are illegal but I have never had a problem buying one. Nor have I ever had any problems with using them... just make sure you don't point them at people in a public place... or more importantly make sure you don't get caught using them irresponsibly

  • Yes, but only if used for a particular reason. e.g. stagazing, optical experiments, lab tests. Not just aimlessly walking around the streets shining it everywere.

If you were caught with one in your home, you could just say you were using it for your own experiments and stargazing.

I have never had to give a reason for why i have a high powered laser though. Nothing to worry about.

  • hey.. wots the different between a 'true' laser and a normal one?? is a normal one where it can ranger from like 5mw - 150mw??

  • Never found a laser that will differ that much! A good laser will keep a constant output where some of the cheaper ones tend to vary in power

But I have never heard the term "true" laser before.

  • deal extreme has a cheapo laser caled true 5mw or true 30mw

  • there lasers have no IR filter, as they say on there webby, this can be dangerous

  • But if you buy the 5mW, that won't be a problem. The 30mW probably isn't that bad either. I would be more worried about the actual green light in a 30mW.

  • A true laser has much better divergence. Meaning the spot of the laser on the wall stays smaller over further distances. For example a normal cheep laser, may have a dot about 1" across after about 4 or 5 meters. A true laser will have a dot between 1/3rd or 1/6th of this size, depending on the laser manufacturer. (some make lasers with thick beams, some don't) it's more relative, how thick the beam is at the apperture compared to were it hits an opaque object.

  • how much was it?

  • About £95

  • WHAT!? 150 mW for that cheap?! jesus i was looking at one for 450 dollars...thats what, like 240 pounds?

  • As I said to someone else, thats the magic of ebay :)

  • wow lol

  • is it for sale

  • lol it is not sorry

  • I have no idea who makes them... it was off ebay. So the one you're getting will be better ;)

  • is that some arghilli in the corner of your room [:

  • blue thing in the right corner? Thats a guitar... I had to look up arghilli lol

And Im still not sure what it is :P

Its like some sort of shisha yeah?

  • sorry wasn't wearing my glasses arghilli (don't know how to spell) is like tabacco (you smoke it)

  • i like using lasers during Class

  • yu hu... freakin crazy lazer..

  • dude the beam is not that visable

  • I think it is - Can you show me a more visable one with 150mW?

  • lol do u think i was for real. thats TOO visable lol

  • Just call me naive;)

  • No not usualy but I put a bit of smoke in the room and that is what makes it look so strong... but theres no camera tricks, it was just filmed with my phone.

  • Wow, I want one, but they're so expensive.

  • yaa i see that u posted this comment 4 months ago but oh well lol...

you can buy a good one from

    dealextreme . com

  • That and my parents won't let me get one because they think I will burn the neighbor's house down or something.

  • ya same here my parents wont let me get one =/

so im gonna make one out of a dorcy metal gear flashlight and a 16x diode +axis module

    muhaha

  • ownxored

  • Wouldnt recomend it in case you enjoy getting cancer.

No IR filters on home made lasers =p

  • the IR that comes off of it is really small and dosent really do much to the laser except add mW, but still ill be sure not to point it at my eye lol..
