i got my tattoo on impulse it took me a week to decide book and get it and i still dont regret it, the way i look at it is you only live once and having a tattoo is just one of the things in life that you either do or dont, i like my tattoo and its a symbol of the fact i want to do wat i want to do when i want to do it. Who cares what anyone else thinks? i just like experiencing as many things as i can even if it is just once.
@bobolishas My first tattoo is the outline of my state on my wrist and I get criticized about it a lot because people don't understand the meaning, but it means just that! You have one life to live! It's a symbol of me actually doing something I want to do and not caring about what others say.
I know that I want one on my wrist that says one life because we only live this life once and maybe a dove with an olive branch in its mouth on my shoulder blade or lower back but hey I have 4 years to think about it and change my mind

Isn't always the case. I contemplated it for more than a year before getting it. I didn't regret it for years but now all of a sudden I do. Shit happens.
It's interesting to read about psychological theories of tattooing as either a form of self-mutilation or narcisisstic decoration, or a combination of the two.

im being forced to write an essay about tattooing, and those are two of the major factors that pop into my mind.
