I think this is one of those issues where you have to ask yourself the following question. Does it hurt not to let ex-felons vote? Remember that the objective is to prosper society. So, does it hurt not to let them vote?
LMAO - What a bunch of crap. We are supposed to feel bad for the idiots who decided to break the law(s) and commit a felony? Not a chance. They not only should not be allowed to vote, but should be forced to live on a small iceberg in the middle of the north Atlantic.
They made the choice to commit the crime which took these rights away from them and now we should feel bad because they have no voice in a voting booth? What about the victims rights they ignored. No chance.
If we're not gonna let them reintegrate into society after getting out of prison, then why bother letting them out? Statistics show that those allowed to vote are less likely to re-offend. Surely you don't want them reoffending, do you?
I was almost convicted as a felon once, and i was pretty dismayed about the possibility that i would never be able to vote again. i was also dismayed by the fact that i would never again be able to leave the country without obtaining permission from the feds. then i bought a little justice and everything turned out all right. yay!
