omg if i was there id be using a 10" smooth bore yadda...shut the fuck up about what you would do or use, your not there, your fat asses are parked in front of the computer
That is a "John Bean" high pressure nozzle. I VOL'ed on a department that used them all the time. They are a great tool, but not for every fire. Not this fire for sure. I hope they can use this video to re think some tactics. Stay safe everyone
it is obviously a defensive attack why not a 2 1/2 line flowing 250 gpm ? or perhaps a deluge gun..... manned or unmanned ... we flowed 3000 gallons a minute on a mulch pile fire a month ago with two deluge guns for over 3 hours...hence "big fire big water" .
Why not just piss on it? It would be about the same...

If you don't actually know the Dept or their SOPs, try to have a little bit of "benefit of the doubt".
It's always easier to criticize than to help, or ask "why"....

1 3/4 is a standard attack line for some fire companies
krombie1313 4 years ago
What would posses you to use an 1 3/4" line on a fire like this?
Blitz350 4 years ago
I agree. Might as well be spitting on it.
