Yes. He crows in the morning afternoon and night. It's totally up to him. We don't restrict his timings.
He sleeps on me when I am sleeping, sits under the chair when i am using the PC. If he's bored, he will just go off and do his stuff. :) but he loves to peck people. :)
hey, do u a;ways give ur rooster milk>? im gunna try it once and see if my rooster likes it. cuz i really dont got anything else for my rooster to try. my rooster likes new things
You know, if you trimmed his Spurs, walking would be Much easier for him. He could even Run!!! :) (I trim my Rooster's spurs 2x a year with a pair of large dog nail trimmers, and stop the bleeding right away with flour, or medical powder) :) But that's just me. :) Does he drink milk on a regular basis? That's so cool. Nice Roo BTW. :)
I said to my parents, can i have Tortoise? NO!, ok can i have a Dog? NO!, what about a Parrot? NO!, a tank of Piranhas? NO!. So i asked for some Chickens, they said no but they were't so agressive and they're smiling when they say it, i know they want them aswell purely for their eggs XD!
Chickens really are the best pet! I have a rooster too, he isn't as pretty as yours but i still love him. He loves eating chips lol. they do make a lot of mess but its easy if you have tiles and floor boards and its so worth it!
Not if you give your chicken a bath every now and then. If your house is carpeted, the droppings could prove to be a hassle unless you are dedicated in cleaning them up after.
Gonna keep it in a pen or a big cage when i cant be with it. Ill make news papers on the floor in my room. Had gerbil's hamsters , rats and a rabbit in my room and i kept them clean. Just want to give a home to a lucky chick which wont end up cooked.
Yes, it's safe. The calcium in the milk is good for their egg shells. I have heard that they will drink sour milk too. Sometimes I give my hens nonfat cottage cheese as a treat. They love it!
That is a very pretty rooster. I would lightly recommend cutting his spurs, then using a nail file to trim away the cracks that cutting them would make.
omg ur rooster has huge spurs! i only have 4 hens! well 3 chicks that i dont know if thet are hens but i have 1 full grown hen. i have vids of them...check it out
i have a couple of chickens in my back garden, but i do like gettin them in the house every now and then, is it possible to train them not to poo in certain places?
Possible, but not easy. After 6 years, my chicken still poo when and where he likes. My suggestion is if you don't like them to poo in certain places, don't bring them there.
Just one? Your going to need more than just one. Lone chickens often develope severe mental problems when kept alone, as they are flock animals. Trust me, I once had a lone Buff Orpington, and he became extremely aggressive because i raised him alone.
Are you so sure? There are alot of responsibilites that come with chickens. If your they average person, you dont want a chicken, you want a dog or cat. Trust me.
lol, what breed? Right now I have 2 RhodeIslandRed hens, a Barred Rock hen, Silver laced Wyandotte poullet, Golden laced Wyandotte poullet, Black Comet poullet, Black/Red Sexlink poullet, Cuckoo Moran poullet, and a Buff orp/Rhode island Red cross cockerel. Lol, just tell her to make sure they have a coop and a run when they grow up! =D
oh wow thats alot of hens she has Barred Rock hen and all of them are hens except for one lol..oh and yeah shes has a coop! lol the backayrd is the coop but to make sure noo pretetors get them they put up like a screen roof and one it broke and as soon as they noticed they went back to fix it lol she treats them like they family lol
you couldve cut the spurs, to a little over an inch long, when they grow too long its harder for them to walk. but that is a very healthy looking bird.
Humans eat alot of food they wouldnt naturally have.
Im not sure about the milk, but i honestly think the calcium would be really good for a hen, or roo for that matter. Not to mention the fat content would help them in the winter.
i used to have pet chickens when i was in elementary school; they slept in a cage at night, but were allowed to roam free by themselves during the day. Coolest thing was that everday at 4o'clock, the rooster would wait for me to get off the school bus and greet me with his wings down.
yeah he allows you do to anything touch him..pet him...roll him on the bed...carry him upside down by his legs..tickle him...but he really hate people touching his legs..i am sure all chickens do
yup...basically my chicken drinks anything which he finds nice..example milk, milk shake, sweet drinks like pepsi, coca-cola etc..oh ya...he hates drinking plain water because its too low class for him :)
