I tell you why this is allowed to happen. Because, around 60% of the aid the U.S. gives Israel is spent on arms and these are U.S. manufactured arms. U.S. Aerospace makes a fortune from this conflict and has huge influence over policy. Money runs the world. A peaceful one state solution with jews, muslims, christians living together in historic Palestine is simple, and viable but arms sales would drop massively. US would also loose it's military base (and therefore stronghold) in the region.
