  • Paul Ryan voted for Medicare Part D, and he has the nerve to talk about the problems of Medicare. This guy is a joke.

  • @genYprogressive He actually voted against Medicare Part D. If you're going to make BS up at least make up BS that can't be rejected in five seconds by goggling "Paul Ryan Medicare Part D". Don't dabble in sophistry, it's beneath you.

  • @dhemingo There are two Part Ds. Ryan voted aginst the Democrat version that allowed the importation of drugs and goverment subsized drugs.

  • Ryan is the right wings' nigger!

  • OMG! He just banged 'em European style! Just the way they like it! LOL!

    Give 'em hell Paul!

  • Paul/Ryan 2012 ;]

  • Great job Paul Ryan

    keep it up

  • Paul Ryan is GREAT

  • European socialism ain't bad.

I might have to pay 30% of what I earn in taxes, but still i have a good and happy life. Even when everything but international technology is more expensive here in Norway. Cause I get free health care and free hospital visits, cheap medicines and free education. I even get money during my education to help my economy. And the just list goes on. And most of all, I'm happy cause i know my kids will get the same benefits.

  • You may be happy with Statist servitude, but we free Americans despise tyranny.

  • Free? Hahaha, you guys can't even demonstrate outside the government building. Free speech zones, yeah, you guys are really free. When we demonstrate for marijuana legalization in Norway, we are allowed to smoke marijuana in the streets without police interacting.

I am aware that USA's education system is built upon paying money for education, and a lot of people doesn't get the education they deserve, because they don't have the money. A lot of intelligent people!

  • So why should be give up more of our liberty? How about fighting back to regain it. That is where I am coming from. It won't happen overnight for sure. After all, it has taken these Statists almost 75 years to get to this point.

  • I doesn't see taxing to pay education systems as loss of freedom, its actually a great freedom to get the education YOU want! And the same goes for people that loses their fingers in accidents, in stead of choosing what fingers to replace based upon price, they get all their fingers replaced for free. We live in communities, and that's because communities help each other with food, jobs and places to live. Why not help each other with education and health-care to?

  • choice is not an option with gov't (public) education, hence less freedom. also, more money obviously does not work as your grammar eloquently shows. your illustrations of fingers and communities leaves me to the assumption that coherency is lacking in this forum. education and healthcare can be helped best by keeping gov't out of them. market forces to determine quality and price...you will see increase quality and decreased price over time...history shows gov't increases cost of programs.

  • The fact that I write English as good as i do tells enough about my Norwegian education, how many languages do you happen to know? But I don't want to argue about that. You say corporations will decrease price? then why does you're little finger cost 6000 dollars to replace while you're thumb costs 20000 or more? That's what corporations do, set price tags on them based upon usefulness. You should watch a doc. called Sicko, a lot of info about the health care system in different countries there.

  • health care is so expensive because there is no accountability for cost, just like all areas where government has become integral. in this case medicare, and other state and federal programs, along with insurance companies have attributed to the ballooning of cost. michael moore hates this country and to say cuba's health care is better than the US is flatly ignorant.

  • If i get my self a low class job here, I'll earn 20000-30000 NOK each month (about 3000-4500 USD). That's what left when it is taxed 30%. I just don't see the problem of taxing heath care. If you're so scared of big governments so vote for the state to take care of health care. I overdosed on sleeping pills some months ago, and after my 2 days hospital visit i got a mail where it was written that my visit had been payed. Now, what would a rescue heli, medicines and a 2 days visit cost in us?

  • that's good you make that amount of money in Norway i'm guessing... but you forget to realize that our unemployment rate and the fact that we have more people than your country makes giving everyone healthcare a fiscally retarded idea... we can't afford it as a country... norway can due to the fact that they aren't like the US in the way we have more world responsibilities than norway does... norway don't need a strong military or other stuff we have so they can afford healthcare...

  • But i have to say that I'm no expert on all this taxing stuff, and i see that we're quite stuck in this debate. I see no point in arguing much further, so I'm "resigning" for now, as all the info i got on the subject is taken from documentary's I watched some time ago. If you know any documentary's against government or state controlled health care then please tell me, i need clear arguments to base my opinion on.

  • people in communities do those things... you're right... but people with good hearts get y'all food and jobs and places to live... it's not the government's responsibility to provide everything... i'm not paying extra tax for someone to just chill and not work hard for something they didn't earn... healthcare is something earned... or at least great healthcare is something you work hard for... paul ryan is offering something a lot better than what obama is doing... obamacare cost too much...

  • Your right about the problems with implementing health care in a country with 300 mill population. It's a reason why my country reaches to the top of the UN list of best countries to live in so many years in a row, and that's not all taxes and how our government uses the money, but mostly due to that there only lives 4+ million people here and that we got a lot of oil outside our coast.

  • But I still think health care paid by the people will be better/cheaper than corporations. I don't trust corporations to take care about something of such importance and earn on it somehow. Universal health care don't care about profit, its only job is to help people in need. Yes you already pay large amounts to pay your military, about 50% of taxes I think. I don't see why you need such a military?

  • Your country is a member of the UN right? Then if any invasion happens to your country, you will get military support from like 10+ other nations.

There is enough money in the taxes that goes to military to pay for health care, if people don't want to pay so much taxes then something has to go. But whatever that happens in the US I don't really care much anymore, it's your country, your vote, do what you think is best for your children.

  • Funny you said that if we get invaded other countries would help us... no country has ever helped us since the revolutionary war when france helped us... the greatest example i can make for this is when we got hit with hurricane katrina, we had NO help from the international community... NONE whatsoever... we keep a strong military cause' we know we can't depend on anyone else except ourselves to protect our own nation... many nations want the US to fall... many nations maybe due jealousy. idk..

  • Our Congressman is fighting the good fight. Let us support him. Perhaps it is time to contact the other GOP congressmen and tell them to vote "no" to Obama's budget.

Obama's budget is a disaster and sends us down the road of European socialism, massive debts and deficits and enternal servitude to Obama's government.

  • paul ryan should run in 2012.

  • Ryan is solid and I agree that he may be a contender. What a refreshing breath of conservative articulation.

  • I love paul, telling it like it is
