The designs of the command and lunar modules shown in this film were circa 1963, so the animation may have been done that early. The rocket launch shown was the first boilerplate Apollo command module, launched atop a Saturn 1 in May or 1964.
This may be a revised version made in early 1966, since the narration refers to the Gemini 6 and 7 rendezvous mission, which was in December of 1965.

I posted this clip to illustrate what the animation state of the art was in the Apollo Era as a responsed to a Lunar Hoax CT idiot who insisted that all the Apollo footage could have been faked by CGI. Never mind that CGI didn't exist at the time. On the mythbusters message boards, there is always some moron posting CT nonsense.
What a trip! Note the rugged "pre-Apollo" look of the lunar mountains; the huge crater under the "landing bug"; the big rocket plume that digs a crater; and fun stuff like the Gemini-era helmets and the picture window and seats in the LM. If the missions were faked, wouldn't you expect the 'fakes' to have all those same features? After all, they're what NASA had led everyone to expect, right?
I posted that as an example of the state of the art animation for a CT who insisted the landings could have been faked by CGI. The level of ignorance of CTs is incomprehensible. That is a straight from NASA publicity film.
ROFL! Remain for 7 days!? The first landing was for 2 hours and the last was like 2 days! Its been 40 years and nobody has spent a week on the moon yet!
7 days lol.
Look at the suits and the inside of the LM.
ANIMATION FAIL!

I'm doing an animation involving all this Apollo stuff and this has been the single most useful thing I have found. Thank you for uploading!

I think about 1964 or 1965.

Soon the AwE130 archives will release more official NASA footage.
Peace to you

@ApolloWasReal They showed lots of stars in this, too. And billowing clouds of dust. Yeah, that was fun.
I wonder if this is in Awe130's "archives."

@Astrobrant2 Hey, let's send it to him!

I can see that NASA spent all of its budget on the rockets and space craft as this animation got no budget at all.

@DickFez Hey, since this is so closely related, why don't you submit this as a video reply to my "2001: A Space Odyssey" analysis?
Astrobrant2 1 year ago
You could fly a CT to the moon personally and they still won't believe it.
