fantastic video, great selections, and looks like you have a killer collection!!! Strangely I just found you through TheGrecianThunder's video, no idea how we have not crossed paths to date. I have liked and subbed, now off to watch your back catalogue of videos. Brother Jack is the shit! Cheers, Mark
There's a new sheriff in town, and his name is Reggie Hammond. Nice Blue Notes. Somethin' Else is making the rounds again, you go Cannonball. Damn. - Lj
Yes, that 1595 Adderley is two DIFFERENT labels. Look closely, one side is a "West 63rd WITH INC" label (it reads "Blue Note Records INC - 47 West 63rd * NYC" and has the registered trade mark "R" under the big "E" in NOTE across the bottom of the label). The other side is a "West 63rd NO INC" which reads "Blue Note Records - 47 West 63rd * NYC", This would be considered a transition issue, not a true first since you've got a later label on one side.
@wertsdb71 Yeah I looked at my others I have two with two different labels ...and one with matching 47 W 63rd so I'm guessing that the matching is the true first. It would be the one that is in the poorest shape…ughh!
BIG DAWG! That Cliff Jordan is great! Horace Silver and Blakey?! What?! Pretty crazy on the Something Else LP. My local store has that Donald Byrd you showed, I think I'm gonna pick it up. Your Blue Note Records are fantastic man!
I have a book about jazz club "The golden circle" (gyllene cirkeln). Famous for having lots of american contemporary jazz musicians visiting in the 60's, Ornette did two for Blue Note records at that club.
AND Jack McDuff played there 23/7-23/8 1969, maybe he wrote that song during his month in Stockholm...
I don't know if this is usefull for you in any way, haha.
Every time I see Hammond, I want to cry because my old Shephard died of old age in 2007. She was a beauty, like Hammond. I still miss her. You are a lucky man! Kenny Burrell is one of my guys. Anything on Blue Note is worthwhile to me. Lots of the ones you showed I have never seen or heard of before. That Cannon record is sick...they all are. I enjoyed this video immensely. Thanks!
Astonishing! Those are beautiful. "Sir, I'll take one copy of each... please!!" Eddie Gale is the rarest; never seen a hard copy on this side of the border. 'The Rain' always gets me. His second one for Blue Note 'Black Rhythm Happening' (1969) should also not be miss. Agree on Sam Rivers: 'Fuchsia Swing Song' (et al.) is playing a lot these times (from the Mosaic CD box set). The two Johnson's, Jenkins/Burrell, even the stains on the Byrd are beautiful (in HD). Damn those are beautiful...

Don't listen to crappy mp3 versions of these masterpieces !
Life too short, listen to your copies ! that's why they were made for at the first place, not for any speculative purpose !
This said, you've got some nice ones ! They deserve to be played

Never seen that Bossa Nova Bacchanal release. That looks very interesting!
I dig Summertime too. It always stops me in my tracks when I hear it. So many interpretations that can (and have) been made over the years.
Thanks for the intro to Jack McDuff's Moon Rapping!
