  • Biggest private track costs £500,000,

  • Nice trains

    What scale is it though???

  • Hello, the OHLE is made by Viessmann, and is available from ONtracks, and Modelbahm Kramm in Germany. regards

  • were did you get your overhead lines from?

  • how much that come too

  • are u gonna make your OHLE Live at some point so ur intercity 86 i think is is can be make so its powered by them instead of just track power As you can get some where the pantograpth is the source of + and the track -

    Nice layout

  • Hi there; you cannot use live OHLE with DCC. Thanks for the info, and the other complication is when you have hidden sections with OHLE live, you need to run the wires all the way around the layout. Also, by the way, since Hornby went to the 5 pole ringfield motors, overhead current collection is not enabled. There is an 'add-on' label added to the box stating such. regards Nick

  • @zzpjl8 "You cannot use live OHLE with DCC".

Okay - now please tell us why not.

  • Just fabulous well done it looks amazing

  • Any Tips On Where To Start A Model Railway Layout For The First Time? My Cousin Is A Carpenter & The Base Board Will Be No Problem.

  • Hello there, look, I always recommend Hornby. Buy a train set which comes with a trak mat and this will get you started, by simply adding to a piece of flat thick chipboard. Good Luck!

  • @trainsify - No Need To Start Every Word With A Capital.

Just the first word of the sentence is sufficient.

  • Do you use any track underlay if so what sort?

  • Hi, I do not use track underlay; it only has a life of about 6 years and then 'decomposes'. Recommend you either use cork, or pin directly to baseboard (which is what I do) regards

  • Thats an awsome layout an a busy one :)

  • thats really good! where did you get the overhead wires and stands? :)

  • Hi there, thank u. OHLE is Viessmann. Check it out at Modellbahnn-kramm or On-Tracks in England

  • Have you seen the 1 in Germany it the biggest one eeeevvvveeeeerrrrrrrr

  • Awsome this is so beautiful must be expensive. I wish have it one day, now I have small just two trains.

  • What are the max curve radius for the outer tracks. Fair scares the hell out of me.

  • its best to buy stuff on long periods of time instead of spending hundreds all in a short period of time, maybe £30 a week at most.

  • nice layout is it dc or dcc

  • @schomberg4 Hi there, yes, it is DCC; Hornby Elite + 4 Selects used as walkabouts. regards

  • @zzpjl8 very good

  • 0:15 is that the Mallard?

  • Hello there, yes it is, a really beautiful Hornby model. regards Nick

  • Won't lie - bit jealous!! Great layout

  • Great layout design

  • This is amazing!

  • this is actually pretty cool, how much did this all cost?

  • It really is best not to think about it, just keep buying things! It is a hibby of a lifetime, after all. CHeers.

  • @zzpjl8 i bet youve emptied your pockets though. haha

  • @zzpjl8 Yes I agree with you,its a priceless hobby.I've been hooked since my first HO train set at Christmas at the age of 5.Nice layout.

  • @zzpjl8 a hibby do u mean a hobby

  • @cheeseballcentral I've spent about £700 on mine so far-analogue- and its half the size of this, but has a rack railway which cost a bit, joined onto the rest which is hornby railway. I reckon this would have cost about £1,500- I can't see whether all ae plastic models or not, but I have used Skaledale and a few other german products, used lighting etc message me and I'll show u a photo.

  • nice

  • Nice layout, very neat , good add for Hornby

  • that was the bestman

  • Woooow... superb layout!! this is how I would like mine to look like and operate like eventually!!

I like the power lines - nice touch!! ;)

  • You have a beautiful layout. It's something to be proud of.

  • awsome

  • Great layout! Liked!

  • well done.

  • I'm so jealous I feel like swearing.

  • do you use flexitrack for your corners?

  • @MrHozley , I use set track for the corners, rad 2 and 3, although around the city area it goes r2,3 then flexi for r4 and r5. If the board was wider, I would use min r3, especially now Hornby have set track r4 available. regards Nick

  • how much did you pay for all of that

  • one of the best , mines in the garage for 20 years still goes ok

  • what controller do u use on the layout its so amazing

  • @jmsschooner

Hi there, Hornby Elite plus 4 Hornby Selects. Only 2 wires to the track and rest of power via Hornby point DCC clips. Basically all hornby track, and any flexitrack, use Hornby fishplates. regards Nick

  • Dude i would like ask you for a train cause u got so many and i only like got 1 but their ur trains :) Love the layout :) I wish i had that much space for mine

  • Great Video! Well Done!

  • lol nice american lorry in a british scene

  • which scale is this? n or ho

  • Hi, it is OO/HO, ie Hornby 1/76th scale regards

  • @zzpjl8 can you please tell me the difference between oo/ho

  • @yuri5677

    Hornby is 00. H0 is 1/87th

  • what is the circular moving thing callled

  • OO guage railway is pretty close scale to 1:72 (its actually 1:67) so theres a massive variiety of things on the market that would look about right

  • i am GWR do u have some one your layout

  • Hi there, I do not have GWR at present. I have on my wish list the new Hornby Castle Class. Sorry about that!

  • Very awesome! I want to get one!

  • Top layout zzpjl8 !! What do you use to keep the tracks clean?

  • Hi Andrew, believe it or not, in the 3 or so years the layout has been running, the track has never been cleaned. I find with Hornby DCC the dirt accumulates on the wheels of the locos but not on the track. Last Xmas, I had a massive wheel cleaning day, turning the locos upside down in a Peco cradle and used a Pec fibreglass brush whilst the wheels spun around. The layout is in a closed room; this helps greatly regards Nick

  • If you have any spares that you dont want i would be happy to buy some of you and very nice vid 100/5 lol :D

  • Hello Pete, thanks for that. The station roof is in fact 6 Hornby station canopies, ie 3 side by side with another three. It yields a gret result. I will be repainting these at some stage. Have a look in the Hornby catalogue, they are still available. Take note, the cheapest way to buy them is to buy the Main station pack, which goes for about £38 in England; this not only gives you 2 of these, but plenty of platforms etc. regards Nick

  • the station with the roof which has four tracks going through in total.. could you explain how you did this cuz its amazing :]

  • Great layout mines at my dads house got tones of trains and track.

  • Great layout, I'd hate to have to ballast all that track though :O!

  • You have a very nice looking and very busy railroad. Enjoy.

  • very cool 5 stars

  • nice 5*************S
