Bravo! With Feinstein's vote for the wicked FISA Amendments Act, she needs to be replaced by a grassroots coalition of California Democrats in the next election.

They're the ones that should be censured. Get your head our of your ass and start living in the real world. The world doesn't need more self-absorbed special interest activists. Where's the progress, progressives? Move On!
President Bush raised his hand and SWORE before God and man to uphold and defend our Constitution, then later referred to it as "a goddamned piece of paper." How could such word ever passed the lips of an American president?! Our liberties have severely eroded under this president. Polls now show him as the most unpopular president in history. Little wonder.
I will give an example of why the polls show Congress at an all-time low. I received an email from Diane Feinstein saying she would not support impeachment of Bush because it would be divisive and would probably not succeed. Nancy Peolosi said impeachment is "off the table." Thus these two Congresswomen have shown that THEY THEMSELVES are part of the problem also, because they will not stand up and do what is right! It is a matter of right and wrong!
Bush lied about Iran's continuing development of nuclear weapons and just got busted.
But you're so deluded you'll never be able to accept that Bush is the evil bastard he is. What I wonder is WHY you are so deluded, you must really hate yourself.
Wake up America. The system is rigged against you. Vote someone in that will not stand for the status quo. Only one candidate opposes the war and has the support to be elected. I am concerned about American jobs and the failed GOP policies that have decimated our middle class and crippled our economy. How simplistic and naive you're thinking is in regards to foreclosures. Google it and read who the culprits are...
I hate how all the damn hippies in CA always vote for democrats just because their democrats instead of looking at the ideologies and things the person has done.
When we look back someday at the catastrophe that was the Bush administration, we will think of many things: the tragedy of the Iraq war, the shame of Guantánamo and Abu Ghraib, the erosion of civil liberties. The damage done to the American economy does not make front-page headlines every day, but the repercussions will be felt beyond the lifetime of anyone reading this page.
What is so sad is that we have no were to turn. The Democrats or nothing more that a sub party of the Republicans. We entered into a new Fascist State and these people will not save you. We must begin the process of Revolution.
The Democratic Party in Michigan is run similarly and poorly IMHO. Here, it is a good old boys network (mostly old union guys); opposition and dissent are steamrolled; meetings are rigged, stacked; the "parliamentarian" makes up rules/breaks rules..
I've been very disappointed with Michigan politics since relocating here back in September after 14 years in the state of Washington. Upon trying to get a new license I was greeted by the possibility of forced closure of the Secretary of State's office due to the failure to agree on a budget for 2008. The local politicians here are as bad as the ones in D.C.
Michigan has been in economic decline for the past 20 years at least. In the 1980's, the Detroit auto-companies closed Michigan plants; outsourced to other states/ countries; breaking the UAW; losing market to the Japanese.
The UAW did little to address this problem - management had strategy to break the union and outsource jobs to non-union plants. Despite the weakness/decline of the UAW - it still has a stranglehold on the Democratic party in Mich
My sister works in an auto plant in Western Michigan and is worried she'll lose her job. The company has already moved much of its operation to southern states where wages are lower. I can see that Michigan residents are becoming the first real casualties of the war on the middle class that the government is waging against its own citizens.
I live in SW Michigan and I talked to older union guys who told me their last job was dismantling manufacturing machines and sending them to Mexico. Like digging your own grave.... they knew the stuff was going to Mexico. We had a metal plant - that has shut down; we had a cereal making plant - that shut down...
BTW: the top executives make 10's of millions of dollars on deals. When Chrysler was sold to Daimler Benz the top executives made a killing on stock appreciation
Have you no mind of your own? Have you seen the bloody toll, have you seen the torment, have you seen what the bloody gore splattered truth is? Do you know what DEAD means? Have you lost your soul in the blue glow of your TV and comfy armchair? I pray to my Christian god for your slow painful death, oh wait that makes me like you. Never mind.

Wow, looks like a lot of diversity at the meeting! The party that claims to represent all Americans, regardless of background, and always decries the lack of racially and culturally diverse Republican candidates. But who is represented at this meeting? It looks to me like white men and women. In fact, I only see one African-American woman. Wow, that's the Democrats for you! Do as I say, not as I do.
Finally someone doing something about Feinstein who has betrayed our democratic principles by supporting the crimes of George Bush. It truly astounds me at the reactions of ordinary Americans that this action is "loony" or just leftist. Are they saying they want a country run by criminals and leaders who will not uphold the trust that was given them to follow the laws of our Constitution. The Courage Campaign is run by people who care and are "not going to take it anymore."
The Democratic Party is even less responsive to their base than the Republicans. The two party system has failed. We need parties that represent leftists, fiscal conservatives, evangelicals, environmentalists, etc. Instead we're left to vote for the lesser of two evils.

You people need to get out of your echo chamber.... the rest of the country is sick of the hatred and divisiviness that the Left is so invested in harboring toward their fellow citizens.
Ah, i see, you're demostrating those leftist values of tolerance , non-bigotry, avoidance of stereotypes.. OH.. except for those you disagree with. With those you disagree, all your little platitudes go out the window.
And I see you're demonstrating the right wing values of making straw man arguments and deflecting the issue when confronted with someone outing you as closeted gay republican.
gluvox: So glad you have a system whereby you can assign people their caste based on some characteristic and then impose a politial ideology onto them which they may not challenge.
what you saw here is a group of people who are trying to take control of their party back from the special interest powers that have hijacked. similar to Ron Paul supporters trying to take their party back from other special interest. they're trying to hold their elective representatives accountable to the people who elected them. that's called democracy. is there something wrong with that?
I don't get this supposed hatred the left has for rest of the country that you talk about. How are they sowing hatred & divisivness? Because they want an end to war? i do think those on left, right, & center have united in opposing our empire building & growing police state & we should use this opportunity to take down the Mil. Industrial complex once & for all.
left-wingers, right-wingers & everyone in the middle are in a struggle to take their country back from the establishment/elite... that 1% that owns 90% of the wealth. We should be supporting each other, not disparaging each other. As it turns out, most Americans see things about the same way. It's the hate mongers in the media/in power that pump the divisivness for political gain. Don't buy into it.
Riiiiiiiiiiiight. *The Left* "fosters hatred and divisiveness toward their fellow citizens" while right-wing heroes like Coulter, Rushbo, Hannity, O'Reilly, etc, are just paragons of tolerance and acceptance, and you're *not* a Republican. What color is the sky on your planet, anyway?
I was feeling very disturbed by seeing the way that Senator Feinstein, was voting for lately, I can se now that I was not very wrong and other people see it the same way I do.
I signed for the Democratic party but I am concerned to see that the Republicans always vote as a block, no-one discord, however the democrats do not follow one continuous line and that is dangerous, there is not homogenies
Diane Feinstein is a traitor. She stands with traitors. She votes with traitors. She has betrayed the very people she represents. She should be tried and punished as the traitor she is. Censuring her is mercy for her, and the California Democratic Party is too weak to do even that.
Just goes to show it's not the party, it's many who head it. All the more reason to be independent in mind, learn as much as you can about every candidate, and vote smart/not partisan. Perhaps when enough people of integrity are both in office and leaders in party, this kind of travesty can be reduced.
The Green Party? The one that accepts money from Republicans? Again and again and again? They're nothing more than a spoiler.
You're drawing the wrong lesson from this. What's going on is that there's an insurgent progressive movement that's transforming the California Democratic Party. We're taking it over.
There's a lot of deadwood yet to be cleared, but we're on our way. And it's not going to happen by dreaming of a 3rd party. Its going to happen by storming the gates of a real party.
