which 570 card model was this? i was gonna try an sli with 570 2560mb for just 1 day. had a fan noise issue on my card, so i did an rma (temps r fine), it is to arrive today then i send mine back. Thought I would sli for a day, never done an sli setup and was kind of curious. i have a 750 watt thermaltake psu. also was just curious how long you ran the setup like that for. i will take the overclock off of my 2600k and not overclock the vid cards, so everything would be stock for the day. thx
After seeing this .. I would think its safe to say my Seasonic x750 Gold would be just fine running 2 evga 570 SC in SLI, even with a 2700k OCd to 4.6?
@acemace3618 um, well if this video is about a 650 properly running two 570s then why would there be any question as to if a 750 could do the same? :p
@ZzarkZul I never seemed to have any microstuttering with that setup. Currently I don't have the 50s any more. With teh same PSU.mobo etc I overclocked an x6 1090t to 4.0 ghz and have two GTX 560 regulars at 925/4250/1.087v. Only microstuttering I've encountered was in BF3 beta where it was 10-15% measured using rage3d's tool.
nice work buddy, but i have a question, can i use a sli of gtx570 *without overclocking with amd x6 1090t 3.2, using one of these CORSAIR 750 watts without botleneck or i can fry something using this energy source?.
will this be enough to power an i7 2600k, gtx 570, gigabite z68a? I did a check of power consumption online and it came to roughly 480 watts so the 650 surely will be good amount of spare power, no need to go to 700 ?
@ragejg Yeah I get the point of the video and to be honest is running 570 SLI on a 650 wise man, I mean come on one single 570 produces anywhere from 220-300 watts alone.
@lancsno1 if you have an "actual" 650W PSU such as the Antec EarthWatts or some of the other better units, then on a stock-clocked rig a 2x570 is fine. However, if you want to overclock your CPU and use extra voltage, as well as use higher speeds/voltage on your GPUs, then I'd at least go with an 850. Some have derided this effort of mine, others have cheered it. I research thoroughly for "bang 4 the buck" combos - that truly work; and this did.
hi guys, what about a msi p67a-c45+i5 2500k+ gtx570 with a 600 watt enermax 80+... would it run smoothly and with enough margin for medium overclock (both cpu and gpu)
@K3VINx777 um, this video i put together clearly demonstrates the GTX 570 SLI combo/Antec EA650 PSU running at high load conditions. I did test max load conditions as well with no problems. :)
@lapartman what CPU/motherboard? I'd say that you could do this with no problem, and you might even be able to get away with a very light CPU overclock, but not much.
@GamerX7800X well, would you be overclocking the rest of your rig? And what CPU? I think you can get away with a decent CPU overclock and a light OC on the 570s with a good 850W PSU.
@GamerX7800X with what you're doing an 850 might be cutting it a little close. A 950W might be your best bet for overall complete coverage for all required voltages.
@pcmanio as a general rule I would too. But in some cases, obviously, 650 can work; it just depends on how decent your PSU/mobo/GPU combo can work together.
@KaizokuouOrewaNaru in other words you have a bit of overkill goin' on. :p You could to Tri-SLI with that PSU... or just 2x SLI if your rig is heavily ovrclocked.
I have a GTX 570 already running on my PSU, its a corsair HX650w. Because you can SLI two 570's on that PSU, I am very confident with my corsair and hope to save money and run them in SLI. If anything, corair got my back with their 5 year warranty :)
@Thesimsgameaddict101 I'd do what you can to check out reviews of your PSU, and also mine.... likely at johnnyguru. IF the HX650W is as good or better than my EA650, and your system isn't overclocked, then you'll likely be able to get away with doin' some SLI like I did.
For what it's worth, I only created this video for the fun of it, and to kinda show proof that the Antec Earthwatts 650 PSU was and is indeed enough for the two GTX 570s. I didn't choose to run Stone Giant in any biased manner, nor was this created at NVIDIA's suggestion (as I'm sure they'd recommend against using a 650W PSU for these cards). I'll likely create some follow-up video mini-reviews featuring more gaming and/or synthetic benchmarks.
i was also looking to run my system with two of these cards with a 650w psu aswell i have a Antec true power new TP-650w
do you think my psu would be ok, i think mine is better but did you notice any weird power fluctuations or things like that with that setup i would love to finally go sli but i wanna be sure it will work fine and not explode on me :L
@dizzy854213 Thanks for the comment. I would actually recommend against it. I think I got lucky; I've been very careful about my voltages; and honestly long-term durability is not assured. I'm hoping to get a better PSU in the near future, but it sure is cool that this one is doing the job.
are you still running safe setup on this m8? i want to get second 570 for myself and i got 750w psu.

very weard 650 watt can power 2x225 watt + 300=750 so how 650 watt psu can handle this?

Heya, im using fractal design 650w psu, and im thinking of going with the 550ti SLI solution.
Im just wondering if my psu will be enough for 2 st zotac 550ti. Answers are very much appreciated! :)

so can a 750w psu power 2 gtx 570's I am using a psu with single rail technology, it states you can evenly balance the wattages or something...

@ragejg I am also powering 2 optical drives, and hdd + ssd, and some fans so I probably should have mentioned that
acemace3618 4 months ago
@acemace3618 Well, for comparison's sake I had one optical drive, one SSD, two old WD2500KS drives in RAID 0, six 120mm fans and two CCFL tubes.

Could you test your single & sli 570 setup, with BF BC 2 & Metro, at 1920x1080? I'm wondering if you get micro stuttering as well?

@brunobmb7 If I could do it with a 650 that's probably not as good of a PSU as your Corsair, then I don't see why not.

@lancsno1 this is a video about an SLI setup with 570s and a 650W PSU. Your question is better suited to a forum, like rage3d or hardforum.

K3VINx777 7 months ago
@K3VINx777 I can't tell if this is a statement or a question. Obviously if two 570s work with a 650W PSU, then they should also work with a 750.
