I certainly hope you are not using the stock front suspension uprights. They fail where they screw into the lower ball joint. I had 3 fail in autocrossing. Then the frame hits the ground. What did you do for a rear end?
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree!
the main goal of the project was no bonnet mods, it fits like a glove, had to move the steering rack though to get the engine low enough, plus the aluminium ls1 is lighter than the stock straight 6, i am going for balance overall, weight dist. better brakes, better suspension, etc.
Pretty cool. I just hope throwing that V8 in there doesn't require modifying the bonnet or other visual parts of the car....some just throw a way too big of a motor in the Spitfires/GT6.
Gotta throw some video of the car up on youtube so we can see the rest of the car!

I love the fact that you wanted a lighter motor and keep the look of the car. A+
