That was so very beautiful. What a shame it was cut from the film. I love Barbara and I love 'Yentl', it really is a great musical. Barbara's singing voice is sublime. I think Barbara's best movie is 'Funny Girl' though :). It's funny and touching with great songs, 'Funny Girl' is to Barbara what 'A Star Is Born' was to Judy.
Oh Barbra, that is a really good song, why you didn´t sing this song in one of your fantastic concerts (with the headline "The Outtakes of Yentl")...in the film Yentl it was the right decision to replace it with No Matter What Happens...good luck for your new album, and greetings to diana ;-)
i heard somewhere a different version of this with a verse whose lyrics were: "although it seems, that i'm the one whose wise, i've learned so much from you, and something something, a deeper wisdom lies, a world that i never knew.....the moon and i..." it was gorgeous and i have no idea why i know it
You can't say this is an 'unreleased' demo. It was cut from the film but released in 1991 on Barbra's "Just For The Record" boxed set. Careful, you can confuse people with the wrong words.
Gosh! I've heard the song many times before, but I couldn't imagine that it was from Yentl. I love it!! ^^ Thank you soooo much for posting, dearie<3<3

There are so many filters and Vaseline on that lens it's a miracle light could penetrate it.

A wonderful song and performance. Hearing it on "Just for the Record" I was tremendously moved.

It's my understanding that The Moon And I was not filmed, and that No Matter What Happens replaced it before filming began...
