@gravano2 A bit of a pain, but its bearable. It takes 3 times as long as a normal guitar (because there are 3 times as many strings) but other then that its exactly the same.

They are not a waste of money if you play songs that require the tone of a 12string as well as a 6 string and don't have the chance in the song to swap guitars. (eg. Stairway to Heaven)

@analfabet123456789 Exactly what smezec said. You must not know much about guitars and music if you don't see the point of double necks. They're for convenience, like not changing guitars between songs, changing from 12 to 6 strings for song with both. For example, chords could be strummed on the 12 string and solo played on the 6 string. Think "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, although that was acoustic. You get the point though.

I have one of these and the ONLY problem I have with it is putting it down once I've picked it up. You should be able to pick one up for about a grand but it's definitely worth the money. I've seen where some change out the pick-ups but I think they're fine just the way they are.

@onett128 she is!!! the 12 string side is definitely hard to make it sound decent, changed strings about 3 times to get it right. the 6 string side has got a good sound and good pickups even comparing to my son's SG.

I used to sing in a LZ tribute band and our guitarist had one just like that. Also I own an Epiphone SG ( the same color ) and I love it! I think Epiphone is Gibson's alternative to Ibanez. Anyway, great guitars. : ]

I ordered it from coda-music . com and it cost around £500 at the time.

The top neck can sometimes be a pain to keep in tune, but once its all done it sounds beautiful

Thanks. The amp itself isn't very good at all, its a Marshall Lead 20. But I'm using an ibanez tube screamer for the distorted bits and I used an SM57 mic to record this.

One neck is a 12 string, so if you need to do a song that has both 12 string and 6 string, eg Stairway to Heaven or Hotel California, you don't have to stop the song, run offstage and grab another guitar.

Yeah its a bit of a pain to stand up and play with it, it is rather painful on the ol' back.

If you can get the balance right its not too bad having the 12 string a bit high up. But the guitar is good enough to make the lowness and hurtingness on the back not important lol
