Shalom, As a Jewish writer/author, and student of the Holy Bible for over 25 years, may I share insight into Paul’s Nazarene vow, and the Jerusalem (kahal /assembly) “church.” (Acts 21:23,24) In Numbers, Chap. 6, Paul’s vow was not just an offering. He publicly showed that he was purifying himself for the Holy God of Israel, and separating himself from everything unclean (Gentiles). He confirmed he was Torah observant. (See web blog: "Mobilizing Children/Sons of Light" on Google Search).
are you stupid The brandon 1934 ...........do you read your bible ? hosea 14:3 tells us that there is no need for sacrifice........ i mean that is just one of so so so so many ......14.:3. Take words with yourselves and return to the Lord. Say, "You shall forgive all iniquity and teach us [the] good [way], and let us render [for] bulls [the offering of] our lips.....................there is so many many more
Why are we continually trying to equate obedience to salvation? I don't understand what the two have to do with one another. Are you saved by the Law of Moses? If so, we are in a lot of trouble because I know of no temple to bring my offerings. Obedience or disobedience to the law of Moses gives you life or death on earth. Salvation, or the atonement, that Jesus provided gave us eternal salvation.
That's the question that I've been really wanting to know as well, what a cop out saying it's 'symbolic' and yeah, it doesn't make sense for the reasons that you gave Rabbi.
I would imagine most people have no clue however Temple Sacrifice is not banned anywhere in the NT, in fact it would be legitimate for a Christian to go to the Third Temple and offer there, for though one is saved by the blood of Christ, these offerings would be out of respect for God. They would not grant salvation or such, but it would be a nice gesture.
I am not Pauline so I am perhaps not the person to answer this question.
It looks as though you are Pauline though because you have 'case for Christianity' on your profile.
A nice gesture that goes against Jesus' last sacrifice? I believe this is incredibly blasphemous. Jesus 'died for you, as the final sacrifice, he was mocked, spat on, beaten and killed slowly via aspxysiation in the hands of the enemies as a final sacrifice', the nice gesture is nothing but the worship of Man. This is not respecting God because God made
So this is where I believe the Christian explanations on your comment is very, very false.
We know that Paul didn't do it out of respect for God, but to save himself from potential prosecution.
If Christians believe that James believed that Jesus died for the sins of mankind as a final blood sacrifice, remember James as a JEW by practice appealed to sacrifices - This very action proves Jesus to their beliefs was not a final sacrifice.

@smartwarlord Hi, are you a messianic Jew?
