  • God forbid someone parodies stereotypical "feminine" behaviour. Someone might even get offended!

  • Biological men cannot wear tampons; why are you people getting your knickers in a twist about this?

  • @MistressofSin616 Because it's not something to make fun of.

  • I really struggle to understand how this advert is transphobic when its a drag queen and not a transgendered person in this advert.

  • @SexualDeviant21

How can you tell? How do you know he hasn't undergone a sex change operation? Maybe the hormones are less successful for him than other trans-women?

Aren't you the one jumping to conclusions? Betraying a few prejudices, hmmm?

  • @SexualDeviant21 How do you know?

  • But who wants periods anyway?

Isn't that the downside of being a woman.

  • Homosexuals are born. Yes, I agree. It's genetic.

But like any genetic disease, it can be cured eventually with science.

Penises and poos do not mix well, and lead to higher STD cases.

  • @whiteapologist Homosexuality is neither genetic or curable. The fuck are you talking about? If it was genetic, there wouldn't be that many homosexuals would there. Since they have a rather hard time passing on the genes to the next generation.

  • @chamaeleont Oh, so it's a NATURE problem! Thanks. Now I know a healthy education should cure it.

  • "TAMPON maker Libra has been branded "outrageously transphobic" over its new ad implying transgender people are not real women because they don't menstruate. "

BUT ARE "TRANSGENDER" PEOPLE REAL WOMEN?????

    For fuck sake..

  • @matheusgu Yes, transgender women are real women. :)

  • @laurajbrigley Are you a transgender "woman"? Why are there both male and female genders in the first place? Reproduction obviously..

Can you breed? Hell.. if you are transgendered most men will see you as a freak who decided to castrate itself and decided to implant someone else's vagina. That means you will probably have to lie to find yourself a good man, of course unless your male jawbones and greater height doesnt give it up on sight.

Seriously, if you are, why'd you do it?

  • @matheusgu I'm not a trans woman. But is it really so hard to believe that you might be born in a body that doesn't correspond with your gender, with who you really are inside? Is it really so hard to believe that a woman might be accidentally born with a penis, or a man accidentally born with a vagina? Nobody asks to be trans, it's just the way they are. I respect and love my fellow women regardless of what their bodies are like and you should too. :)

  • @laurajbrigley No such a thing as a man born in a female body or a woman born in a male body, that's a hormonal disorder AND it can be CURED

"Is it really so hard to believe that a woman might be accidentally born with a penis"

YES, I mean.. if one was born with a penis, one is a MAN. Unless he/she is a hermaphrodite, in that case medics will make exams to determinate the right gender and them procced to surgery.

  • @matheusgu No doctor, nobody else can determine your "right gender" except you. Stop being hateful and just accept and love your fellow human beings for who they are. :)

  • @laurajbrigley That's what the LGBT supporters blindly believe, it's all about the "inside" and shit. WHAT??? Homosexuality has a CURE, there are thousands of testimonies out there, google it up.

And no i don't respect freaks who fuck themselves up on purpose like that. For me it aint a man nor a woman anymore, it's a true freak.

  • @matheusgu Oh, you think homosexuality can be cured? Never mind, you're a complete idiot, I can't waste my time on you anymore.

  • @matheusgu The only way to "cure" being transgender is to come to terms with your own body. Does that include surgery, HRT or packing/binding - anything to feel like you belong in you own skin - then THAT is the cure.

  • @chamaeleont Yeah yeah if that's what you believe on... It's all about inside and shit... And transgender people ARE'NT and will NEVER be real women, Deep down even those who defend these freaks know it, dont deny it.

  • @matheusgu like all closeted homosexuals, you're a very ignorant, angry person. It's lucky the queer community is accepting of all sorts so when you come out we'll embrace you with open arms :)

  • @MsCrunty Can you explain me exactly why am i ignorant? wasnt my statement true?

I am not angry nor am i arguing, i will just explain you why i am right: Men are born and will die with XY cromossomes, therefore it is impossible for them to become real women (XX cromossomes), They need to purchase breast implants and a artificial vagina, They need to keep drinking/injecting/whatever female hormones because their bodies wont produce more than the regular quantity. Now tell me i am wrong.

  • @matheusgu First learn to spell "chromosome," you ignormaus.

  • @lasaboteuse I am sorry if i am not an american/british and my english is not entirely fluent, who gives a shit by the way? Criticizing my grammar only shows me that you got no valid arguments to share. Give me a intelligent reply.

  • @matheusgu Men and women are more than their chromosomes. Your basic premise is right, but your conclusion ignores what gender actually is. Even biological sex isn't as simple as chromosomes, and gender invokes a whole host of social and cultural constructs that accompany biological sex. You're wrong because you're trying to simplify something very complicated, even if your facts are correct.

  • @MsCrunty Are you a transgendered "Woman"?

  • @matheusgu Why are you a man? So you can make babies, obviously! FLAWLESS LOGIC.

  • @lasaboteuse I cant breed babies.. transgendered "women" cant either. I cant breastfeed, transgendered "women" cant either.. Come on, building up a fake vagina, silicon breasts and take estrogen doesnt make transgender people real woman, it'll always have some male characteristics like larger hands, large jawbones, wide shoulders, tall height, smaller eyes, flat lips ETC.

    Are you a transgendered "woman"?

  • @matheusgu Yes, they are real women. Where exactly are you going with this?

  • honestly girls, if it offends you, start carrying tampon in your purse.

that was obviously a drag queen, not a transwoman... wayy too flashy.

  • @LexiRandom There are some trans women who are that "flashy," and they are just as much real women. :)

  • @MaystiqueGreen "transvestite" is considered pretty outdate and offensive to a lot of people...

  • Funny :D And it's super to be a hipocrite and on one hand make fun of women (like jokes about blondes or women parking a car) and then feel offended about not having a viagina. If you feel a woman without a second hole between your legs - so be it. Why the f**k should I care? Don't you read books? xD Men and women are build differently and a guy with a penis simply can't put a tampon in it - this is why it is funny. And what about me? I feel offended that a MAN entered a ladies room!!

  • I am a female, I also have gay friends, and happen to know a very nice transvestite. However, I think this ad is, quite simply, funny. Yet I tend to agree that political correctness has quite a lot to answer for. I'm sure we all remember the '5 cougars thanks!' ad. In it's time it was also lashed, this time by feminist's. Yet even 'wiki' states; 'one of the most remembered and effective ads ever aired [...] and is arguably one of the most remembered ads in modern day Australian television.'

  • I thought it was funny. I doubt it was intended to be offensive.

  • What the F**K is 'Transphobic' (an asburd & clumsy mismixture of Latin & Greek) supposed to mean?

  • @freeman8128 A fear and general uncomfortableness about trans* people.

  • Not only is it transphobic, it's just sexist in general...I loathe its vibe of cattiness and competition.

  • @lasaboteuse

As if being catty and competitive isn't believable female behaviour. I swear feminists like yourself are only satisfied if women are always depicted as perfect beings. Any depiction of what you see as remotely negative or unflattering and you extrapolate it as a political statement that all women are this way.

Grow up! Get over yourselves! you don't see men complaining every time a man is shown as violent or a rapist or whatever, do you?

  • @kingjamie2 Actually, if all men were stereotyped as being violent or rapists, I would have a problem with that.

    Nice try, though.

  • @lasaboteuse

So when a single man or a couple of men on tv are portrayed as rapists, that isn't meant to be a statement or portrayal of the whole male sex, but when one woman and one tranny are shown as catty and competitive and bitchy, that supposedly is meant to be a statement or portrayal of the whole sex?

Nice double standard and retard logic. You're just looking for any flimsy excuse to get offended, like all feminists. any time a woman is shown to be less than perfect you cry sexism.

  • @kingjamie2 There is simply not as much of a stereotype about all man being inherently rapists, the way there is about all women being catty and in competition with one another. However, whenever men are stereotyped that way, I object. There is no double standard. Your reading comprehension is obviously terrible.

I don't know why I'm even bothering to explain this to somebody who uses the word "tranny."

  • I don't get this ad. It's not interesting, it's not funny, it's not informative... Basically they have gotten stuck on the ideas meeting, did a youtube search on all their old ads and the competitors ads and found something :"edgy" that hadn't been done before. Obviously, with good reason.

Controversy, discrimination, prejudiced aside; the advert is a waste of time and Libra now owe me 31seconds of my life back, thanks.

  • then be a person no one cares what you label your self im transspices myself I was only born human inside I am 100% dog .

  • @Chansulus I love you.

  • gay guys say that they are not offended by this video of curse you are not there is a difference between GENDER IDENTITY and SEXUAL ORIENTATION people need to be educated and stop being IGNORANT!!!!

  • There are two women shown. One had the luck to be born in the right body.

  • LOL!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..........

  • Take it for what it is... a competition between two people and the vagina won!

  • Eh.. I don't get what's so wrong about this ad. I mean, it's a pure fact that you can't menstruate if you don't have the right parts. I see ALOT of proud gays, lesbians, transgenders out there, I thought they were open about their differences.

If this ad was "transphobic" then the woman on the right would have freaked out about having a drag queen in the female toilets.

The only thing bad about this ad is that it's a little insensitive, full stop.

  • @AnnaMannng Do you not understand the difference between a drag queen and a MTF transwoman? Drag queens are people who dress up as an exaggerated character with feminine traits (usually gay men, but there are straight male drag queens and also female drag queens of all orientations, sometimes called bio or faux queens); transwomen are women who were assigned male at birth.

  • @lasaboteuse I do understand the difference, however where exactly in this ad does it say that the woman is a drag queen or transsexual? You can't tell without looking up her dress. Either way, if you were assigned as a boy you wouldn't be able to menstruate.. so just getting to the point, this ad is not transphobic.

  • @AnnaMannng But it's implying that not being able to menstruate should make you the subject of ridicule...which is transphobic.

How do you know it was a drag queen? That's not the vibe I was getting at all. Sure, the makeup and behavior were over-the-top, but I read that as the person trying to "compensate"—which is also transphobic.

  • @lasaboteuse As I said before, you don't know whether it's a drag queen or not - just that the way he/she dresses and acts implies he/she is. I don't even understand how it's offensive to not be able to menstruate, even if you were teased about it. That's just how it is, nothing to get offended about. Infact, overreacting is exactly why the ad person in the ad is being ridiculed..

  • @AnnaMannng Jesus, do you think it is the simple fact that trans women can't menstruate that offends me? No, it's because somebody is being MOCKED because of it in the commercial. I should remind you that commercials are not forces of nature, but are rather written by people.

  • @lasaboteuse Ugh aaand what are they being mocked for then? Being unable to menstruate? Not being natural born woman?

All those things are true facts, not subjective comments. Getting offended by it is simply just overreacting.

Oh, and thanks for informing me, because I was 100% certain that commercials were indeed forces of nature. *rolls eyes*

I have nothing against gay people or transsexuals but it's definately uptight individuals that makes the rest look bad.

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry guys & gals, but I found this funny.

However I can see why some might be up in arms about this one.

I have Albinism, and Skittles ran an ad with a "albino", and sure some people hated it, but I didn't think it should be pulled. In a short while no one will really remember it.

  • Because of the Trans fuss, this is not easily fix any trans, and ready. Because homosexuality or trans, is the beginning of the extinction of the human race. imaginence a world with pure gay and transgender human race becomes extinct, because such people can not procreate.

  • @massimo6791 Oh boo friggin' hoo. You know, there are plenty of lesbians who get artificial insemination and have biological children. I'm sure there are plenty of gay men who would be willing to donate. If humans were entirely homosexual, they would still be able to procreate. And you know what? They'd all actually WANT to become parents. Maybe it would be better if we were all gay so that bigots like you wouldn't exist. Just remember, heterosexual sex produces gay kids.

  • Tori

You are perfectly ignorant, and foolish to say that heterosexual marriage produces children gay. so if all children would be born gay.

Surely you are a homosexual, or lesbian and say these words as hits you too. but it's true. As they say "The truth hurts."

Good that you can teach a gay person to a child, teach him safe anal sex between men. Oh, in the case of women, being with a woman in sex is normal.

All they do gays and lesbians are aberrations

And you will not but with that topic. OK

  • @massimo6791 You know a lot of straight people don't have kids, right?

  • haha this is funnny as hell no subing a real women lol no matter what you say

  • anything that can bleed for 3-5 days and NOT die must be evil.

  • This is so stupid...seriously trans* bashing is not necessary. fuck off Libra.

  • @Karopex Your country will be a Muslim emirate soon and then God will punish you.

  • hi! el transsexual era mas regio que una :D jejejeej

  • Transsexuality is against God and should be punished according to Islamic law.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser Views like yours should be punished according to the laws of justice-which is, by the way, far above "Islamic law."

  • @SuperRegisteredUser Your view doesn't represent the Christianity ...

  • @cosmiqueson I am Muslim.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser I'm sorry, that changes the view ^^

  • @cosmiqueson There are no Muslim countries with these Godless freaks in them, they deserve nothing but death.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser I didn't intend to make any other comments on this video, but I thought this one called for a response, because of how ignorant it demonstrates you to be. "No Muslim countries with these Godless freaks"... really? Have you ever checked out transsexuality in Iran? Turns out that their government actually sanctions the process, and recognizes it as a medical illness that they generally treat on the government dime. "No Muslim countries" indeed...

  • @puellanivis the same Iran that has executed 4000 homosexuals for homosexuality since the revolution.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser yes, the exact same. I didn't say that Iran was a paragon of human rights, I said that at least one Muslim country has transsexuals...

  • @puellanivis still, it's remarkable seing someone like you defending Iran. Did you get to keep your testicles, or did the people who indoctrinated you cut them off?

  • @SuperRegisteredUser not defending Iran, using it as a counter-example to someone claiming "no Muslim countries have these Godless freaks"...

Also, "puella" is Latin for "girl", so considering that I am a woman, your question about "keeping my testicles" is kind of a stupid question to ask...

  • @puellanivis Who the hell speaks latin? Where are you from? Women can be neutered to, both litterary and figurativly. Iran is predominatly Shia Muslim, which may explain why they sin against God's creation.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser who speaks Latin? I don't know... educated people? I doesn't really matter what version of Islam Iran practices, your whole argument that "no Muslim country has these godless freaks" is not just offensive, it's also patently wrong.

  • @puellanivis No educated person would ever consider learning Latin over a relevant world language. Only snobby Americans learn Latin so they can go around bragging about knowing it and they still pronounce Caesar "See-saar". My argument is only wrong in theory (yes, one Muslim country has laws that allow transgender) but not in practice. You see, transgender people are killed in Muslim countries, regardless of what som Iranian law says.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser Ich kann auch Deutsch. Puedo tambien un poquito español. Et je peux parler un petit français. 日本語もができます。I learned Latin because it helped me learn French and Spanish. Anyways, your argument wasn't that some or even most Islamic countries do not allow transgendered people... your argument was that ALL Islamic countries do not have "godless freaks". You now admit yourself that this is the case. So, you admit that you were wrong... so why are you arguing with me still?

  • @puellanivis The DO NOT ALLOW TRANSGENDER PEOPLE. Don't you understand? Transgender people are not accepted in Muslim countries regardless of what some law says, people despise them. With your logic it could be said that North Korea is a strong supporter of capitalism because there are a few people selling stuff on the black market.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser I'm confused... if Iran's government-run medical system will cover transsexual's transition... how are they not allowed? I'll grant you that they face discrimination, but they face discrimination here as well.. but the Iranian government is still entirely permissive to transsexuality. So you're wrong. There's no arguing this, you're wrong. You're patently wrong. There is no nitpicking anything, you're WRONG. Iran, a Muslim country officially allows transsexuals. You're wrong

  • @puellanivis and where is "here"? Are you from USA or Europe? discrimination here as well? Hahaha, in the Muslim world they are stoned, that doesn't even happen in the most conservative town in all of USA.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser Both, transsexuals face discrimination everywhere. Perhaps the closest to not being discriminated against is in Thailand. And again, in Iran, they are not stoned to death by government sanction, so your comment "in the Muslim world" needs an exception. And trans women HAVE been murdered brutally, one guy ran over his trans girlfriend repeatedly until she died. Sure we don't throw stones at them, but that's because we have far more efficient methods at hand.

  • @puellanivis The difference is that in the Muslim world large groups of people go out to stone transgender people. What you speak off is individuals, not society in general.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser except that they don't do that in Iran... you're making sweeping generalizations, that are provably false. Iranian society does not in general go out and stone transsexuals... you're wrong, you admitted that you were wrong, and yet you still can't just fucking admit the words and say them. There's nothing else to say really... you're wrong, you've already admitted that you're wrong, and I don't know why you won't just own it and move on... the fuck is your problem, really?

  • @puellanivis my problem is that a castrated leftist like you defend Iran. I guarantee you that if an iranian person changes sex, then the population will act against it.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser again, not defending Iran, they're pretty offensively against some human rights, but that doesn't make them stop being a counter-example to your claims. And before you argue that the Iranian population will act against an Iranian transsexual, how about you actually attempt to do some fucking research, because right now, you look like an idiot claiming that that the sun is purple. Oh, and since castration is the removal of testicles... does not apply to women...

  • @puellanivis read wikipedia about "Transsexuality in Iran"; "However, there is still a great deal of stigma attached to the idea of transsexualism and gender reassignment in ordinary Iranian society, and most transsexuals, after completing their transition, are advised to maintain discretion about their past.". How many westerners have to keep it a secret?

  • @SuperRegisteredUser Go to the transsexuality article, subheader "stealth". Turns out that even in western society there is a great deal of stigma attached to the idea of transsexualism and gender reassignment in ordinary American society as well. Many people might call them "godless freaks" even. And when guys find out that they banged a transsexual, they might just overreact and kill the transsexual. Transsexual Day of Remembrance as a search term there.

  • @puellanivis it is justified to kill a transsexual in that situation. It should tell sexual partners what it is. It's pathetic how you are trying so hard to prove that your own country are equal to Muslim countries in terms of attitude towards transgender people. Most people would call you a traitor to your own kind.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser _A_SINGLE_ Muslim country, not all Muslim countries. And I don't think I need to prove anything about our country being equal to a Muslim country, you're the one calling for murder and violence, and emulating the Muslim countries, and thus proving my entire point... so, if you want to start pointing the "traitor" finger, start pointing it at yourself.

  • @puellanivis I'm from Iraq you dirty western whore.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser Yeah, whatever. Actually, even that asshole Khomeini was okay with MTF transwomen.

  • @lasaboteuse Heil Hitler you dirty jew lover.

  • im a transgender woman, menstruate or no menstruate doesnt bother me.. it also doesnt define my gender. i really dont care how society view me, view me as a man or woman its their mind and i cant be bothered to waste my energy and time to educate them. if im happy living as a woman, than why should i care how society view me. man, woman, gay, hetero, trans its all just a label. i am a person...

  • NANMIOS:

"...there is even more female to male transsexuals!"

    >> The truth is in COMPLETE REVERSE, liar.

Women don't transition nor feel the NEED to transition as much

as men do because they are not conditioned to hate themselves

and their own gender the way men are. Plus, women have WAY

much more social power than men, so while many homo-fems will

MOCK men by dressing like them, what would they GAIN by

altering their ACTUAL BODIES to look like real men?

    --The Final Justice

  • Relax its just a commercial, it's funny. Anyone projecting their politics onto it one way or the other is LAME.

  • To all you straight guys out there who can't detect adam's apple on your date, make them show you their tampons. If she ain't carrying any, you know it's a pre-op. madam.

  • @etamlous I feel this could be a bad test, because I'm sure there are ciswomen who wouldn't carry because they can't have periods.

  • @rudyiking But everyone knows they're not real women! /sarcasm

  • I emailed Libra and they replied.

"Libra regrets any offence taken to our recent tampon advertisement. It was never intended to upset or offend anyone. Independent research was undertaken and the advertisement was viewed positively during that testing.

Libra takes all feedback very seriously, and in response to this, we will immediately review our future position with this campaign based on the feedback received.

[...]The advertisement was placed on Facebook however this has also been removed."

  • The ad would have been fantastic instead of terrible if the one on the left had taken the tampon out of her purse.

  • @partiellementecreme I agree... the woman on the right should have opened up a box of tampons, to find it empty, and the woman on the left would grab one from her purse, and give it to her. Then they share a "we get each other" look. :)

  • "Transphobic"?!

News flash: Transgender "women" are not real women.

Look for "Dennis Prager's Top 10 Ways Liberalism Makes America Worse", in which he points out 3 obvious truths:

    - A man pretending to be a lady is not really a lady.

    - A man is not a lady even if he thinks he should be.

    - The only kind of person who can be a lady is, in fact, a lady.

I feel for anyone who feels they were born with the wrong gender. That must be difficult. But that doesn't mean they are of that other gender.

  • @Respect4Intellect i feel sorry for you , it must be really hard to be a square minded person like you.

  • @de9nmyo No, it's very easy because I adhere to the rules of society that have existed for eons. Such as: someone with male reproductive organs is a man. Difficulty is what YOU must experience going through life so confused that you think a man is a woman.

  • @Respect4Intellect hahahaha LOL DUDE I REALLY FEEL SORRY 4 U anyway have a nice day sweetheart =).

  • It's obviously a drag queen. Look at the shoulders, the make-up, the wig. It's not meant to be a trans-gender!

  • Why should this woman have to put up with a man cavorting as a parody of a woman in an exclusively female environment?

Would it be ok for a woman to wear an obviously fake beard and stand with men at a urinal comparing a rubber shlong to the assembled penii?

Why is there no noise about the ads that tell men they have lost their confidence and are less attractive because of baldness?

How about the ads for various erectile products that make no bones about the undesirability of men with no bones?

  • I am a gay man, and people need to calm down!!!!!!!!!!!! It is just an ad. That's it. Nothing more! It is showing what is a fact. Transgender m to w can't have a period.

  • @psgw1234 Im bi & its funny how people just like to make a fuss out of things

  • This "transgender woman" is actually a gay man, who dresses as a drag queen. The point they're making is not that he doesn't menstruate, it's that he has no vagina whatsoever. All of this "my aunty/sister/mother can't menstruate blah blah blah, does that mean she's not a woman..." just goes to show how many of you have missed the point, and how many of you just need to chill the fuck out.

  • @Snazzzish How do you know it's a drag queen and not a trans woman?

  • This ad is funny as hell. I can't see how it could be offensive to anyone. And I am supportive of trans people.

  • Yeah this commercial is transphobic. But what song is that? I kinda like it.

  • I don't see this ad as transphobic. In fact, the tone of the ad is that its normal for a trans girl to just walk into a ladies' room! The other girl feels she needs to compete on the same terms: you can dress as well as me, you can wear as much makeup as me. The only way she can "win" this "competition" is by changing the terms: I have a uterus and you don't. So she wins, but with a hint of cruelty. This is why the ad doesn't really succeed.

  • Szerintem ha valaki buzi azt simán főbe kéne lőni! vagy minden buzit és leszbikust elküldeni északi sarkra és ott alapítsák meg a buzi országot!

  • You ignorant fucks its a drag queen not a trannie

  • ALERT ALERT LEFTIES ALERT>>>FAGS>>>TRANSFAGS>>>AND>>>LESBOS>>>ALERT>>>ALERT>>>>

  • @Nanmios well said?! Coarse language like "fucking" and "shit" and I'm the clueless one? Maybe I should have said in my original message "get the fuck over it, it's an ad for shit sakes!" and I wouldn't have you and your sidekick trolling me for having a difference in opinion. People are judged negatively and openly for being poor, black, homeless or born to a certain suburb, region or country and THIS is what you choose to get your knickers in a knot over? Reality bites us ALL somehow

  • @Nanmios and this "clueless dodo" DOES know the difference between all the labels you listed that obviously offend "these people" (should I find it offensive that you refer to transgender people as "these people"? hmmm). Why don't you use that obvious passion for your anti-tampon ad cause and do something real with it instead of trolling YouTube :)

  • @Nanmios 4 thumbs up? LOL wtf dude?! I didn't say NADA about suicide rates (btw i just LOVE it when people quote "stats" with no references, flashing "20 times higher than the national average" trying to shock me into conforming with your little rebellion group). PLEASE! I have a family member who committed suicide a few days before christmas so I would NEVER talk about suicide and be insensitive. I referred to P.C bullshit that creates mass hysteria like this. My life is misery free :)

  • @channygyrl1980 well lucky you ey, screw the rest right. i'm alright.

  • @Indi3R huh? Not sure what you're on about. Never said screw the rest or that I'm lucky OR alright but nice little jab from the side there lol...

  • I could see how it could be offensive to transsexuals, but it's still funny lol

  • I'm transgender and I thought the spot was quite good. I never once thought the drag performer was representing the transgender community as drag queens, for the most part, don't identify as transgender. A whole book has been written about it. ("Imagining Transgender" available at Amazon). And probably 90%+ of the audience for this product have no idea what the word means anyway.

  • @Taylor186cd I know the different, but why is everyone so sure that it's supposed to be a drag queen and not a trans woman?

  • So why are transgendered people so upset, and I ask are they really, or just a vocal minority? I thought the advert was quite clever and if trannies find it offensive, what about women that have had hysterectomies, are menopausal or can't menstruate for some other medical anomaly?? Surely they've been just as slighted by this advert then for not being "real women" anymore?

FFS gimme a break and take a chill pill folks!! Get a sense of humour back into your lives!!

  • @GirliqueDownUnder Actually, being trans* is not a sickness, ailment, or mental disorder! This fact is widely known and accepted among psychologists, so maybe you should do some research and rethink stereotypes of transgender folks.

  • @Nanmios Hey, allies are important. Instead of isolating and pushing potential allies away, we can educate them on why positive visibility of trans* folk in media is important, how it affects them, and how they can help. I used a lot of homophobic and transphobic slurs when I was in middle and early high school. Since then (I'm a high school senior now, it's been 3 years!) I've advocated with GSA Network and even got the Gender Non-Discrimination Act (AB 887) passed last year. You never know (:

  • Meh not transphobic, bit of healty competition!

  • transwomen need to realise that they are not women, they are transwomen. they should be proud of this label and should stop trying to take a label that isnt theirs. transwomen DO NOT fit the defintion of a woman, even look up the definition yourself. i think this ad is quite supportive of transwomen, showing one in the female toilets rather than male toilets, showing that they do consider them on par with other women, however they do recognise the difference between women and transwomen.

  • @brndnrckn how about minding your own business? JS.

  • @sichimeko im sorry i didnt realise transexual ran the world.

  • Was this ad supposed to be funny? ... I've seen funnier ads on cigarette packets. 'Transphobic' claims aside, this ad wasn't funny or clever ... If I was a menstruating girl I'd want a tampon ad to tell me how much it costs and if it will do what it's supposed to, but I'm just a 23 year old guy, what would I know?

  • First of all, the ad is based on a lazy premise, that menstruation is what makes a woman. There are plenty of cis women who can't menstruate, and some trans women who can. Secondly, the ad is punching down, taking a marginalized group and making fun of them via an externally applied prejudice. And what's worse, I think, is what it says not about trans women but about all women, cis or trans

  • @rafvz98 No I think the premise of the advert is that healthy genotypic/phenotypic women of reproductive age menstruate and that would be a fair proposition. Menstruation is incidental to healthy femininity not definitive of it. It is all the physiology and genetics that make menstruation possible that are definitive of femininity.

  • great commercial!!!! its funny because its true

  • this ad is very good. no idea why people are getting so snarky.

    how about this.

the tranny grabs a Tammy. soaks it in vodka. inserts it onto his/her bottom. high fives the hot blonde and bails.

    chillax people

  • @tamsnave You used the word "tranny." I don't think you would get why we're being "snarky" even if we actually took the time to explain it to you.

  • FUCKING FAG commercial. why don't these fucking ad companies take all this FUCKING tampoon, lampoon, and other women's products and take them the FUCK off tv. I don't care about Femme hygene, from what I've experienced! COCK-SUCKERS!

  • @destroyer1ism Cool story bro, tell it again

  • they probably went back to the bar had a drink and went home for a raunchy time together... ;)

  • haha OWNED!

  • Sheesh, I'd say not having periods is awesome. I'm FtM and that's something I will NOT miss.

That aside though, yeah, this is really offensive. Besides, who the hell shows their tampons to someone else for no reason in the bathroom?

  • If i was the trans, i woul've point and laugh at the bleeding girl. At least they don't have that burden! ._.

  • This spot is incredibile transphobic! and I like to know.. when a woman show her tampos to the other in a bathroom! is for know who take the horse measure???

  • tout ce cirque pour si peu...

  • @brebislg Je t'emmerde, tu comprendras jamais!

  • @Nanmios proves their head is screwed then like fags and lesbos

  • A REAL GORGEOUS WOMAN VS A LAME FAKE HAIRY ARSE PLASTIC WOMAN

  • FUCK TRANSWHATEVER!!! BE A MAN AS YOU WERE MEANT TO BE!!!

  • @Nanmios Lol whan an absolute load of garbage. I'm glad you feel so comfortable telling me what I do and don't think and what I do and don't know. Anyone who cries foul over this and demands the ad be taken off air while fiercely defending their own right to laugh at fat jokes is a joke themselves and an embarrassment. The fact that anyone could demand so much sensitivity and empathy from others while showing so little themselves is just plain scary.

  • @Nanmios His name is really dick swaab

  • i have no problem with this this was freakin funny espically the magazine adverts freakin funny i don't take offince to this at all!!

Woman menstruate so what every girl goes throught it so why don't we make it laughable for a change instead of being depressed and eating ice cream and chocolate!!!! :D and adverts an adverts and advert people!!!! (my opinon!!)

  • Period ad are soooooo cringeworthy these days and FINALLY there's one that isn't...it's just giggle worthy, not offensive imho. For goodness sakes, stop being so P.C and just change the channel if you don't like it!!!

  • @channygyrl1980 Just because you change the fucking channel doesn't mean this shit doesn't exist anymore.

  • Wow the world is too PC these days. Its quite pathetic really. I see nothing wrong with the ad and I know a few trans gendered women and I have the up most respect for them. The ad is NOT making fun of them its just an ad. People need to stop taking everything in life so seriously..life is too short. Good on ya Libra for a tampon ad that I dont cringe when watching it .

  • @traceyracey70 So the word "politically correct" has historically meant following the previous generation's beliefs and thoughts. I'm pretty sure that's not what the critics of this commercial are trying to be. Just because you know a few trans* women doesn't make any more knowledgeable (not to mention "transgendered" is a nonsensical and ignorant term to have used). And yup, life is definitely short when these portrayals impact the 10x the average suicide rates in trans* folks.
