  • This gifted father and son played this piece on a PBS special with Gerard Schwartz. Spectacular!!

  • Certified Intergalactic! Unequaled performance by the Markov father and son duo!

  • Incredible and breathtaking virtuosity - and at a LIVE performance no less. I wonder who played second violin when Sarasate played this??

  • @violinhunter2 I think Sarasate played both parts simultaneously. :-)

  • Fantastic

  • Sarasate the greatest violinist of all time, sorry Paganini fans....

  • @pepys1633 I agree that Sarasate is really good, but checking the epochs they lived (Paganini died in 1840, Sarasate was born in 1844), possibly Sarasate got inspired and learned everything FROM Paganini, the primary genius ;-) There is nothing in the Universe like Capricio 24.

  • agreed, they are just too different. i would argue that paganini is technically superior but then again he was a freak.....just look at his variations on god save the queen makes caprices look easy.....

  • oho controversial

indeed sarasate was great (one of the greatest)

    so was kreisler

but honestly i dont think any has can or ever will equal the great pag - he was beyond genius.

    also a great guitarist

btw this rendition of navarra is really great

  • Thanks much!
