@pastyourhorizon well dude thats my point. I know he wrote it, and what im saying is I like how he puts so much emphasis on that fact. im not saying anything bad. I am complimenting him. I think hes funny.
i wonder how he feels about this song. obviously it was a song he felt strongly enough about because it was on his self-titled debut in '99, before Norah Jones had anything out.
yeah, he pretty much helped make norahs career by giving this to her, but i'm sure he probably feels sad that 99% of the people who have heard this song don't associate him with it.
then again, the publishing royalties he's probably gotten from this outweigh any other consideration. lol. i dont know!
Don't forget he also got a Grammy for writing this song but honestly up until this show I didn't realize he wrote this song but he has a very long list of songs and writing royalties under his belt that is nothing to feel bad about (he was one of the co writers for Lisa Loebs TAILS album)
Great tune, but it's a lot tenser in E (his key) than Bb (Jones' key). However, Metheny does a version, which is my favorite, and it's in G. But his re-harmonization is just ridiculously delicious.
Wasn't really feeling it the first time i heard it. But that banjo was stuck in my head and now it's become my favorite version.
