  • fender ??????????

  • @MegaZombies115 fffeeeeennnddderrrrrr

  • Wait.. is this from one of IDRs songs? This sounds familiar somehow, but I know each of IDR's songs by heart, and I can't identify this xD

  • @OblivionFall Nah, it's just credited to Andy (ex-IDR, current- The Mark of Man) from his old band.

  • Dude that was awesome . i cant stop listening this Clip :D btw. which song are you playing from 0:15 to 0:55 ?

  • @JePeDy it's my friend's old band. it was unnamed I think,. and never recorded.

  • @xxBlazionxx you dont have any Tabs right ? because its such an awesome riff .

  • This is what I call a pointless video... let's start from the beginning. guitar player is good, sound is good.... but why the fuck you don't show the whole guitar (frest included...in case you don't know).... and why the hell you cut the end of the solo straight?..... sorry, dude...your video sucks!!! my 2cents.

  • @nate11star it's a tone video. not a guitar playing video.

  • TURN THE VOLUME UP! Heavy Metal man.

  • the you're playing is awesome! do you have tabs or somethin' to learn it? because i love it and i have to learn it!!!

  • Sorry, but bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, etc. have virtually no artistic credibility or merit. Maybe some people like music for simple entertainment value, but I like to think that music can be more than that.

  • @necrogauge I don't know about that avenged seven folds self titled album is pretty amazing as per musical direction. not sticking up for any metal players or anything... but even bands like The Red Shore.... that is not everyones cup of tea but technical as hell! or bands like muse... not technical but still very musically minded musicians (style and techniques rather than speed and so forth) regardless no one unless a university practical music assessor can judge talent!

  • @necrogauge because it will be all opinion unless you know the criteria... guitarists like Steve Vai who can play anything from dance to death metal are obviously more exposed to other genres... and stylistic understanding is much more difficult than technical talent. either way unless you sit and assess every style and every ability (which you can't from a bands releases and shows) than there is no way to judge :)

  • So whats next for the dk2m? you got the blackouts, now you need a floyd rose pro :D I remember posting a long ass time ago about if you installed them as active or passive, and you said active or whatever and that there is a lot of space on the back of the guitar, is the battery floating around there? or is it like taped or something lol

    greetings once again from mexico

  • @serazac25 hey man.. haha maybe a pro rose. maybe.

There is a lot of space for a battery, i just put foam there and it rests by itself between the cover and foam when you put the cover back on, stays there and don't move around at all.

  • Great playing!

  • man i love the blackouts

  • top class riffing! great sound

  • THE DUNCANS ROCKING OUT !!!

  • That was the only amp I felt safe gigging with for 5 years and it never failed. It's a tank. I wish it had a little bit of a colder tone but it did the trick.

  • these the normal blackouts or the metal ones?

  • They're the "normal" ones.

    in my opinion,

Why the hell would you make a 'metal' version of pickups that were pretty much the highest gain pickups around anyway?

I heard they even have a AHB-3 series now. slipknot pickups? no thank you. having a good tone won't make up for the lack of talent and need for 9 members.

  • lol hear jim and mick soloing, they are fucking good i assure u xD im gettin the AHB 3 this christmas. Theyre amazing.

  • I have heard them. I was far from impressed.

They might be better than me, but i'm not good.

now, Petrucci or Schuldiner. They're good.

You'd be far better off with normal seymour duncan blackouts. AHB 3 is basically the same with with 'seven' written on the sides along with everything else that he has that's signature. It's lame and most guitarists i know agree.

  • @H3lloSE

If the AHB 1 isn't enough gain for you

Then I'm sorry but you need to improve your technique.

  • dude, the reason they have 9 members is because of this phsycological statement : Why not? 1 singer 2 guitarists 1 drummer 1 DJ 1 bassist 3 percussionists. One hell of a metal band. Who cares that they have nine members if they make amazing music? But that is a matter of opinion. But one thing isn't. Slipknot have talent. Fact.
  • @BILLpunkrockXD

    no it's not a 'fact'. it's opinion.

there are thousands of idiots i've met who think mick is a better guitarist than petrucci.

    very stupid opinion.

calling them the best band ever. opinion

    calling them talented. opinion.

calling them talentless. opinion. but a lot more musicians have this opinion more than people saying they're talented.

I personally think their music is shit.

If you have a problem with that opinion then you have a problem with A LOT of musicians.

  • @xxBlazionxx

If you look at talent in the chronologically phsycological sense, talent is a fact, not an opinion.

Petrucci plays a different sort of music to Mick Thompson and Jim Root, and whether you like that or not is a matter of opinion.

There are a lot of people who disagree with you about slipknot, and there are a lot of people who disagree with me with Petrucci.

But there is one thing in common.

They both love what they do.

    Fact.

And i'm sorry but you have to respect that.

  • I like Petrucci, Paul gilbert, John 5, Yngwie, Vai, Satch, Rusty Cooley, Michael Angelo Batio, Zoltan Bathory, Jason Hook, Dimebag, Zakk Wylde, Herman li and Sam Totman(No they don't suck, they just needed more practice, which they have gotten, and now there shows are pretty damn good), SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Jim and Mick, etc.. those are all great players but they all have there own styles.

Like Jim and Mick, I prefer Jims Playing because theres just stuff I like about it.

  • @BILLpunkrockXD Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

  • Hehe the best joke i've heard in youtube is: "i am very good guitar almost as good as mick thompson"... Ignorence is unbeatable though, you can do nothing about that. They play ok music but a band with 9 members should do miracles, not just launching new masks now and then.

  • @xxBlazionxx you can't compare Mick Thomson and John Petrucci. Their styles are so completely different. My favorite band is Slipknot, yet I can appreciate Petrucci's melodic style. Although Petrucci has a bit more skill, there's no way you can say Mick Thomson is a terrible guitarist. I've learned to find value in all styles of playing.

  • sorry Slipknot does have talent for the shit they make. people think they are great, but in all truth, they aren't. people think they are because people have become too dependnt on the medai to tell them what is good and waht isn't, leading to such topics like the '08 election, another topic. Slipknot has talent for shit. they are weak. listen to early Megadeth, Overkill, Danzig. that shit is good heavy music. it takes talent, especially Megadeth. Muataine's leads are what started this complex s

  • @jfkdjfd

hahaha.... i just started laughing when i saw what uve written there.. how is slipknot shit? u cant compare slipknot to early megadeth or whatever.. TWO DIFFERENT STYLES MOTHERFUCKER! slipknot plays NÜ metal not heavy metal. and oh!, slipknot has a lot of talented guys. joey jordison is an example... FUCKING good. and i have SEEN it.. so no its not just edited on a fukcing pc like tpain and rihanna does... jeez

  • @HaraldBoysProduction yeah NU metal is shit, jave a nice day poser.

  • atyle that has formed into this Petrucci, and other shit like that. Yngwie started the shredders, and Metallica started thrash. Talent is an opinion. opinions are just like assholes, everybody has one. and if you say talent is a fact, then that's YOUR opinion, anyone can disagree, and so do i.the "Metal" bands to emerge from the 20th century have no talent, and are sellouts cause they do waht their fans want them to do, that's a sellout and it's my opinion just like yours, that talent is a fact.

  • not 3 percussionists

there are 2 percussionists and 1 sampler

  • @BILLpunkrockXD

Coming from a guy with punkrock in his nickname? doesnt say a lot for your knowledge of 'talent'

    opinion

  • @xxBlazionxx Dude, You're kind of a dick.

And i wouldn't be trash talking them ( I Don't care for them much either) but you can't really talk crap if someone is better then you.

  • what song?

  • It's from Andy Chandler's old band - A Black Disaster. They didn't record it and I don't know the title of the song

  • did you installed the battery clip or did you mounted them as passives? since it is possible :P

  • I installed the battery clip.

There's a lot of spare room at the back of a DK2M

  • nice Gothenburg lick

  • blackouts sound sick

  • Comment removed

  • thats awesome(: what box did you used ?

  • sick yo im getting this guitar tmorow and i fionally found a vid of someone playing the kind of stuff i play

  • sounds like a gameboy, but better than a mesa boogie POS

  • why do people diss these amps? it sounds killer

  • what song r u playing? i like it XD

  • I've the same jackson, but with jb4 & sh-2, i think this guitar is amazing

  • They are indeed.

love the feel of a maple neck on a jackson body.

  • it worked out for me by just dropping my low E 2 octaves down ;)

  • lol? i think u mean 2 notes or 2 steps down, what makes it D. 1 octave is 12 frets (on 1 string) and 2 octaves 24 frets so you would need to tune your E string down until the 24th fret is equal to the open A string lol

  • yea a D, sorry i'm not into that stuff :P my bad.

  • I played it in drop D, not D standard ;)

  • he i was wondering if anyone can help me - ive had this guitar for a while now and ive started to get really bad ringing from the strings, i changed the strings but its still happening, how can i fix this? its REALLY annoying.

  • You need to re adjust the licensed floyd rose or truss rod.

  • Very cool!

  • i bet thats loud

  • Who was your teacher?

  • you can kinda learn all by yourself now with the internet

  • that's true but i still prefer a physical tutor.

  • Andy Chandler, guitarist of In Dread Response

  • Mean i get lessons form Brent fox ...

i saw in dread response liuve they were fucken mean

  • hey dude could you make a vid when i can see your guitar neck with this song? i really fkcin like it :P :D!!!!

  • Probably but the tone would be different. Got a lot more stuff to play around with. Check tomorrow and it'll be up or friday.

    Pretty busy atm.

  • man that riff is just mind-blowing!! Is it ur own?

  • It's my ex-guitar tutor's old band's riff.

  • This just seems to be the perfect gear!!

  • ya these amps rock i just traded my peavey 5150 combo amp for a metalhead and i don't regret it one bit. love this head and i run a boss gt-5 processor with mine.

  • great plaiyng and tone.

  • That riff is amazing. I need to know how to play that.

  • I thought the head itself would be good enough for distortion.

  • It is. I am using the pedal just to distort the signal a bit more and voice it a bit differently. The gain is only on like 4 on the head.

  • OK I figured if this is such a good head for metal you wouldnt need another metal specific pedal to distort it. It defeats the purpose of having a high gain amp.

  • It is. the tone you can get it great. I have always preferred the tone i got from combining it with a Hardwire Tube pedal.

I use it with a TL-2 Metal Distortion pedal now simply because to MY ears it sounds better and i have the exact tone that I want.

  • Hey man awesome guitar, I have one too!

Where abouts in NZ you from?

    Im in Auckland

  • I'm in Hastings

  • Sweet as man, guitars awesome im glad I have one. Getting an American strat in the next 2 weeks

  • Why are these so expensive? I could get and ENGL or a Mesa for that price

  • I don't think they're expensive. It cost me about $1000 nz

  • A brand new one in AUS lists for about $2000, plus $1500 for a cab. I could get an ENGL Fireball head, and a second hand Mesa cab for that

  • Strange. Sounds like you're getting ripped off I'm afraid.

  • Fender MH-500 goes $1000USD for the head, Aussie prices in relation to guitar-related items seem to go for double anything in USD. Prices of guitars and guitar audio are weird, it's more continental pricing than currency pricing.

Lets say an item is 2 USD. Wouldn't it be 1 GBP? Actually, for the most part .. No. It's really weird but sadly AUS pricings are double that of USD, even though 1 USD is not 2 AUS :/

Best luck is importing from the US

  • Keeping in mind that that is the retail price.

Fender ship with a wholesale, recommended retail prices. the shops will not necessarily keep it at the Recommended retail.

Like rockshop in new zealand for example put a lot more on the price than what is recommended.

'm lucky enough to have a family member who works at Direct Imports which is the place in NZ that imports all fenders and jacksons to the country.

  • dude isnt it a jackson dinky i got one

  • Yes.

    It's what I said

    DK2M = Jackson Dinky 2. It's a Professional series guitar with a Maple neck.

  • nice playing my friend, I didn't know fender made guitars like that, i thought they just made strats and tele for blues and what not but youv'e obviously got a nice shred guitar there. Are those black outs nice? Because i'm buying an ibanez rg320-tg and as you may already know ibanez give there rg range shit-horrible PU's and I need to decide what i'm gonna swap em out for, dunno is I should go for the blackouts or some emg 81/85s, maybe a set or seymour duncans, maybe the new dimetime PU's?

  • The amp is the Fender. It's called a Fender MH-500 'Metalhead'.

The guitar is a Jackson DK2M (although, you could argue that it is a Fender due to Fender actually owning the Jackson Guitars company).

    The blackouts are wonderful.

It's up to you whether you want to get the EMG 81/85s or Blackouts.

I would certain choose the Blackouts because they are amazingly clear and the clean signals sounds awesome!

  • kickass shredding!

how would you compare this amp to a Line 6 Spider Valve? or to any tube amp within the same price range (or slightly above, like Peaveys or small Engls,...)

    Thanks!

    Stay brutal!

  • personally think ENGLs are better.

I put this against a line 6 spider valve, and cranked them both. this one blew it away.

it's 500 watts so that'd be hard to beat even for a tube amp.

i prefer this over peavey's but i have to say that the ENGL's i've played are better. like the powerball and things but not the smaller ones.

  • thats a really nice fender and for me to say that a fender is cool its really saying something

  • Glad you think so, I didn't crank this thing so yeah. It sounds awesome cranked especially for a solid state

  • Whats the neck profile like?

a Thin-U like the Ibanez/Jackson necks or the solid C of a usual fender?

  • hahahaha Epic fail for me, didnt relize it was an Amp you where talking about.

What guitar is that your using there anyway? what are the blackouts like?

  • haha all good man.

Jackson Dk2M in white. pro series. very nice.

The blackouts are great. they can cope with heaps of tones and they actually sound good with clean. much better than any EMG's in my opinion.

  • How good is the fender metalhead, never knew any1 that had 1

  • It's pretty good actually. It's got great tone and it doesn't break up easily which is pretty rare in Solid States. I've used it for heaps of gigs and it's pretty good.

It's all in opinion I suppose.

  • i don't see the fret board, where your pressing the notes :(...

  • is this a song you made up or does it exist?

if so which one is it ?

  • It's a song from my friend's band A Black Disaster, they haven't recorded the song in studio yet. They always open their setlist with it. It's a great song.

  • Ah damn, cause I would have loved to learn the tab of this song for practicing it...Im sort of a beginner: the strumming you did is awesome...

Thanks for the quick reply, keep rockin' \m/

  • If you want I can still give you the tab.

  • Oh yeah please!

  • Ok, send me a message with your email address in it, and i'll send the tab

  • k done thx

  • dude could u give me the tabs aswell? I love the sound!

  • screwing around bud u rock big time

    lol
