On Aug. 11th this year I was traveling from ohio to kentucky with my brother. He put in a C.D. and this song began playing. I had never heard it before or the band..I became absorbed in the music and the vocals. I instantly fell in love with this song and this band. When I got home I began looking for other music by the band..They are fantastic and The Gap Is Too Wide is most certainly my favorite by them, Thank you so much for sharing!
GREATNESS indeed! Just timeless. I've been a fan of Mostly Autumn since their first release, and this is by far my favorite song from their extensive catalog. I dare say that this is one of the greatest songs ever written and performed, regardless of genre. It moves me beyond words. Thanks Chrissie644 for putting this on YouTube!
It's Uillean Pipes, Yaya, from the Scottish Isle of Uist. They're similar to Northumbrian Pipes in that you pump them with your arm rather than blowing into them. They also give a much mellower sound.
