Atm-im trying to carve my tree spirit onto a piece of pine wood (its very hard) but ive managed to get through a bit of material and make some good progress
Ok,, here ya go,,what i do is put on a coat of ''boiled linseed oil'' on the carving when you finish the carving,, you buy that at any ''home depot'' or where ever.. then depending on the ''wood'' i like to put on at least 3-4 coats of a semi gloss poly,,, and i like to carve a maple,, no dark wood for me,, thanks and take care !

most likely that is Sonny Terry - I've heard him do another version of that - & it is his style. maybe it is someone copying him
