Great episode Dave - however, the best pop kick drum of the last decade (if not all-time) was on Timbaland's "Give It To Me" mixed by Demo Castellon. The "Low" kick is good, super-low frequency extension and doesn't totally disappear on small speakers; but the "Give It To Me" kick is just unreal - the transient punch is illegal in some states, super, super wide with no phase issues, perfect mono-compatibility - ever time I hear it I wonder what voodoo was done to get that sound.

I agree with certain points, but overall I feel like Fabian might be a fucking asshole. Dave is twice accomplished the engineer he is and he doesn't speak so negatively as Fabian does. Did you hear that rough mix on the ITL segment? It was fucking horrible! But you didn't hear him bitching. I'd be honored to assist for a guy like Dave. Drew's a lucky guy and I'm sure he'll be big too just like Jaycen Joshua before him.

The amount of product advertising in this episode is really embarrassing. I realise the show needs to make a buck, but the ratio of content to ads is getting really off-putting. It's a good show, but trim back the "in-interview" advertising.

The most impressing thing in this video is how Dave managed to make such a louzy vocal become pretty damn good LOL. I love the Dream. He's probably the worst singer, can hit a note straight (kind of like me). But still made it. Respect that !!! That means if you want it you can get it. There's no rule in music.
