@littlelauren971 it would last like hour sometimes longer. funny thing though they arent the same kind of fish so i dont think there will ever be babies :( although it would be pretty kewl to get some babies out of it

hm, so that's how they do it. I was really confused on how they mated. Ours are having they're second batch of fry right now. They're so cute! she's had about 5 so far. she only had 2 in the last bunch.

we do have a platy fish (orange color) realeased in the muddy cannal, actualy a fresh water runing canal in our vegetable garden, and they rapedly reproduce now , even in the dirty canal where the water from the toilet is running, they are present and rapedly increasing in number, they even don't die that easily,.

@godsmack875 platties can keep sperm inside of them for a long time like 1 time 'fish-sex' is enough for 8 times birth of youngs etc (I think if you want more info about this search it on the web!)

Sounds exactly like my swordtails, fist male been showing off with his long sword and then he stuck to her touching her head with belly. Later on they've been touching themself all the time (couldn't last few mninutes beeing separate which happened about 2 weeks later) and then I had little babies :)

How much are the cost of platy's generally. There are these really attractive red wag tails with black fins, which i want to buy. But they are acclimatizing because the people who brought them in kept them in poor conditions.

White Red and Black!? I'm so jealous!. Those are my favorite colors, I only have sunburst platies and have never found any platies like those around at pet stores T-T
