The original Indians (Dravidian's) migrated from East Africa more specifically Ethiopia. We are not Asians by race !
Indians are Asians culturally. But Anthropologically, racialy we are largely Indo-Aryans. Much like the Iranians. We are largely Aryans that have migrated to Asia. The Dravidians are southern Indians who are mostly Africans but today this entire region is a mix. The Aryans migrated to the sub continent about 3500 years ago (1500 BC). Therefore, we are a mix of Aryans, Dravidian and Mongoloids ( East Indians, Bengalis, Assamese, etc ).

Tagalog is actually closer to Javanese than it is to Malay/Indonesian, we're also closer to the languages from Borneo, Madagascar, Micronesia & Taiwan languages.
