this is to blancmel21 jerry lee and chuck berry are more than even in terms of performance ability just two different ways of goin' about it. but elvis? well never a big fan sorry.
Keith Richards paying homage there to the guy who inspired him.
He did the same with Jerry Lee, he doesn't seem to have a huge ego like Jagger. I guess he just loves his rock and roll. Saw a clip[ on you tube where just about everybody great in rock'n roll bar Elvis was jamming together, wish I could find it again.
Elvis, sadly, had left more than the building by that time and the other performers had sorted out their egos with age- mostly.
@Delfidash Love it Nadine. Johnny be good was the first solo by him I learned. He can rock and a hell of a showman. Always gave you more than your moneys worth. Thanks!
@GregAllen92 Keith has a full time job being the guitar player for the Rolling Stones. This was a one off gig that Keith played (and planned) in celebration of Chuck's 60th birthday which was captured on this rock documentary "Hail! Hail! Rock and Roll!" There is a special edition 2 DVD set and a expanded 4 DVD set available.
His timing, his lyrics, his melodies are unreal, and all this at the age of 60 here in this concert. He is so fit, I saw him twice in concert and he has so much charisma and of coarse Talent, he still performs now at 84, lets face it most people are dead at that age! No Chuck Berry=No Beatles, No Rolling Stones, No Eric Clapton just to name a few, he is a poet a guitarist and a great Entertainer. Johny B Goode is on a satalite out in space, what a great welcome for the aliens!
I saw him in concert in Boston at the Garden in 1972. We stood on the wooden seats and danced - it made a huge clacking sound that ripped right through the house, while Chuck blew our minds with the some of the greatest music I've ever heard, and a mesmerizing performance. If he had told us to jump off a building we would have done it just to keep hearing that incredible sound and watching him do his thing.
@blancmel21 Jerry lee Elvis Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins all jammed together on 5th Dec 56 in Sun studios Memphis...could you imagine if Chuck had been there too?
Chuck berry is the only peroson who slapped Keith richards and got away with it.

Neither needs the other but it was Keith who organised the show, got the band together and dragged Johnny Johnson back out of obscurity.

Was that Keith Richards backing him up on guitar? It looks like him, from a distance, anyway.
Does anyone know for sure?
I saw Chuck Berry perform a bunch of times in the 70s and I don't remember Keith Richards ever being in the band.
