Do not be too proud to accept help....I left Gallaudet in the middle of my jr. year, returned 10 yrs later & finally graduated! It was a hard struggle and I returned, not because it was convenient but cuz I was forced into returning due to circumstances. I am glad I returned/ as I "finished" my goal but it was a hard struggle. Get your degree & over with then, you can pay off your student loans, etc. W/ a degree it is more feasible to find a better paying job & more self esteem. Good luck!
Too many deaf people join GU and then withdraw because of money. It's always about money. For deaf people, I encourage you to think carefully before you decide to jump in. I am deaf, I am from Canada and I never bother to go to Gallaudet University because this University is unrecognized in Canada which means if you get a degree in GU and you start looking for jobs in Canada, they will not recognize your degree and send you home.
Wow umm i still thinking about my goal for collage where i want to be for 2014-2015, umm i have some friend are still there in Gallaudet. I am not sure if you already met one of my friend. His name is Micheal Kothe? do you know him or not just let me know :)
It took me 12 years to complete my education at Gallaudet. Why? Money! Always money! May I offer an advice while you're gone? Do not buy a brand new car! In 1973, I thought that if I had a new car (that is a brand new car), then I would get back to the college. You see, in 1983 I finally earned my college degree...from Gallaudet. I always had a good time but mistakes were costly, and I am still "paying for them" today! "Have fun!" my father told me when I left home in 1973. Have fun!
I understand that was hard life to learn.. all you do is find job and see of any jobs had offend for loan school.. I have job at ups that ups offend me a loan 15 thousand if I am in college with good grade from A to C. whole 4 years only. Also stay at work for 4 years. I thought it will be good for you... if you leave that jobs lest 1 years you will owe big time. good luck jobs save more money to pay your school.
Hello, sorry to see you left Gally but I have seen so many students left gally for many different reasons from SSI , loans or money problems that sucks !!! hope you will get a job for January to work to earn so you can go back this fall if possible ?? I wish you good luck and merry christmas
you can try to apply DORITOES chips...for scholarship... i think i saw the back of bag of DORITOES help young students for scholarship. and try any company who support scholarships. wish you best luck!
You totally should try and get scholarships too! They make great free money, like $500-$1,000. All you have to do is talk about yourself and then they will give you scholarships. :) Hope that'll work too.
