Yeah, the anime depicted in the beginning of this AMV is Pale Cocoon. The guy also directed Mizu no Kotoba (Aquatic Language), and Eve no Jikan (Time of Eve). All three are incredible anime shorts, so I highly recommend that you watch them.

Now this is how to make an AMV! It's hard to find in youtube great AMV's such as this. The trick is to follow the beat of the music and match that to the video, which a lot of creators don't bother to work at. It is harder to work that to the video but it really shows great results.

Agreed. But I seriously doubt most people have access to a multi-million dollar recording, mixing, and editing studio. Just take a look at some of the "Making of" vids. Nostromo is not a typical everyday AMV creator. He's a professional, and one of the best at that, if not the best.

Most people don't have the access for such things, but it still isn't that hard to keep clips on beat with a song. Which like stated below a lot of people don't do. The same thing could be said about matching the lyrics as well. In the end it just takes a lot of precision, patience and concentration to make an AMV, no matter what fancy or cheap equipment you have.

Again, I agree. Most people do not put the time nor effort into their videos that is required to make a decent production. It seems most are out for the music and not the visual experience. Which unfortunately, I think defeats the whole purpose of a "music video". It should be both musically and visually entertaining at the same time. Just like all the other Nostromo vids on here. Nostromo might not be your everyday AMV creator, but he is human, and I doubt he has access to an expensive studio. Maybe a good editing suite, but that's about it.

Simply stated: he possesses a good sense of artistic direction and the skills needed to instantiate his vision. As for being professional, I really don't think he gets paid to make AMVs. If you took "professional" to mean "very very good", then yes, I would agree.
