  • Is the cat required for instant boot?

cause somebody once told me about a film called puss instant boots or something...

  • i'm 9 seconds faster with instant boot ;-p

  • Instant Boot Regular = Windows Hibernate Mode

Instant Boot Fast = Windows Sleep Mode

    We ain't stupid ASrock!!!!!!

  • OMFG! is your pc realy as loud?!

  • Video Response, youtube.com/watch?v=QDyjgLrh9Cc

  • hahahaha thats no different then hibernation sleep in windows 7 it shut everything off and comes on in second and it isnt only just on certain mother boards its on all that support sleep

  • A long, long video to show something fast. Not likely people looking for more speed want to spend this much time watching.

  • Where do you put on AC Power on a desktop computer? I tried Instant Boot software but can't get it to work, it sure shutdown the computer but it wont turn on and shutdown again like it should.

    //Cheers

  • heyy~ i'm want to know whether if i use the fast mode can i off the main switch?

thx~ btw, i'm using same monitor.. XD

  • @ducabui power supply switch? i don't recommend u to switch that on and off all the time, but to answer ur question, no, there have to have power flow

  • @tricccple ah... i see.. thanks.. ^^ i changed my psu twice in a year.. due to 24/7 on. haha.. but nowdays i switch it off after use. thanks..

  • @ducabui

No, you can't. You can only turn off the PSU in Regular Mode (= Suspend to Disk), but not in Fast Mode (= Suspend to RAM).

  • lols its just hibernating.. so it should boot faster.. dont be fooled by that instant boot of asrock

  • @devilariez Right It just hibernating.. Major issue, if it's hibernating, wouldn't you see a hibernation loading bar on the bottom of the screen when booting on? Last i checked, even with a PCI-e SSD (about 4x faster than a sata ssd 3.0 Gbps ) you'll see that loading bar. Even if it's a split second. Now it would be more believable if it's standby, Although it should show a blinking power light if it is stand by. Which it not...

So it's a very real feature from Asrock.

  • @warmon6

The only "feature" of ASRock is to hide the loading bar and/or to avoid the blinking power LED.

    devilariez is completely right.

  • @devilariez It's like hibernating but you still have to turn your pc on by pressing the on switch unlike Hibernating which if you touch the keyboard/mouse congreats you turn on your pc. All it does you turn of your PC it turn back on save the OS how it was when it return on then it save it on the ram and it turn off. Once you turn it on it just load from that save OS from the RAM it's not like hibernating when you leave hibernating you still have all your file load and use up ram so at the

  • @devilariez -so at the- end you still turning on a pc with everything you had loaded before which instant boot does not that why it better to have that.

  • WTF THIS IS REAL? O_O

  • THIS IS SO FAKE

  • @TheHalflife123 which part seem fake to u man. just in case if u think that i'm doing a sleep mode trick, there's a difference between instant boot and sleep mode, instant boot is same concept as sleep mode, it keeps stuff in memory and such, but difference is , that instant boot actually shuts off the power. yeah , so u actually cold booting instead of coming back from sleep mode

  • @tricccple ok thanks for information

  • @tricccple

hi, I didn't know that, cause you read a lot of critic on instant boot saying that its just sleeping mode.

so instant boot really shuts off the power?????

    thx

  • @Erikootje it's simular to sleep mode, except sleep mode dont' shut off the system power, instant boot stores current data to uhhhh i can';t remember exactly, something like ram etc, the nwhen u turn on the power, it restate it like bringing it back from sleep mode, but , it does shut off the system power

  • @tricccple

okay, true, but correct me if I am wrong

But to shut down the system when instantboot is activated, the system first restarts and than shuts down right :)

So, for shutting down it takes longer than normal

For turning on though, its a nice feature.

But I find it sad ASRock doesnt speak about the shutting down taking longer than normal....

  • @Erikootje i guess it makes almost no difference since today's pcs are all auto shut down, unless if u still using a case that uses on and off switch lol.

  • @tricccple

im talking about the time to shut down, not the way...

  • @tricccple

    1. Instant Boot Fast Mode = Suspend to RAM

NO power shut down! --> "Keep AC Power On"

    2. Instant Boot Regular Mode = Suspend to Disk

Power shut down -- as always.

Instant Boot is no mystery to educated tech guys.

  • which board?

  • @pcgames234 a G31 board

  • miaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

  • Oh. I need ASRock motherboard. T_T

  • yeah u do, but something simular would be sleep modes. except sleep mode don't actually turn off the system

  • well its okey without it, I have many time.

  • Ahhah Wang Chung music! :D

  • Do all ASROCK motherboards have this feature?

  • No.Only some motherboards support instant boot.

  • can i have your cat?

  • lol your room is a mess xD

    -lorenzo

  • You need to tidy your apartment, :\.

  • Whoa...havent heard of that feature before on ASRock's stuff. Does it like save stuff on memory like Sleep mode does or does it skip BIOS or something.

Sorry as Im unfamiliar with ASRock mobos :)

  • i think something simular to that, tho i'm not sure myself

  • IT'S TEH KITTEH!

That just looks like the most generic case ever man >.> But I like the instant boot.

  • yeah, cheapest i can find, at least it's clean looking.
