I have a 93 eclipse 2.0 non turbo and the muffler i have on it is a little too ricey for my liking. would anyone know of a good replacement muffler that is a deeper sound? thanks
@treadwak@nakars@markbuhler007 MAF is gone. I made a conversion to MAP sensor and ECU Master - polish alternative to SMT6/7. It can translate readings from MAP sensor to those needed by ECU. This way I have no restrictions and can use 3'' intake with any filter.
I have the same car as you do but how did you get your air intake on with out useing your intake air temperature sensor cuz mine is bigger than the actual filter!
My mom had a 92 Gs, I think it had a 1.8, it was auto, but did that little heavy ass car move. Did 150mph by a cop for suree. Now I got a 89 cutlass with a Cobalt SS motor, automatic to. Holla =P Me be lazy lol
@oSt0n3rKiDo Yeahhh I think you're a liar kiddo. No way in hell a 1.8 would do 150, unless you were going down a 90' hill; oh no, wait, the gearing wouldn't even allow it to do 150. And an 89 cutlass with a cobalt SS motor? Riiight.. Kiddo, you do realize that if the little shitty 4 banger in your cutlas is a 2.2, it's NO WHERE NEAR the same engine the cobalt uses, just because it's a 2.2l aswell, doesnt mean it's the same motor, and it wouldn't mate to a rear drive automatic. Go die, faggot.
y do u have to almost redline to go 80mph i think ur motors has just about had it time for a rebuild.a decent running na 4g63 shouldnt have to redline in every gear to gain top speed.
If you have grinding while shifting i would do two things to start with. I would change my transmission fluid, check the shift linkage and if after that it was still grinding I would get angry because the syncronizer are going bad lol.
i have one but i let me stupid brother used it and he burnt of the freaking transmission plus my other bro just rebuilt and it kept stalling unless u put ur foot on the gass it sucks though now i cant drive it wont move

The tranny has 140 000 km and last 5000 km were made in very hard conditions - mostly on track, keeping revs between 5500 and 7500 most of the time. The tranny is still in perfect condition. Anyway, once it brokes, I will buy a new one :)
Technically revving your car in park is a bad idea because its in gear. Generally if your going to rev it neutral would be Ideal. Like with a manual tranny you cant rev it in gear at all.
you can't tell if this car is a stick or not though??? thats why slush boxes are a horrible invention... buy cars with real transmissions! they are called a standard for a reason lol
Your not that stupid right? Autos in most cases and most cars are faster than manaual transmissions. If their in good working order they shift faster and more firmly and eliminate the lag between gears. If you put two of the same car up next to eachother stock for stock the manual will lose unless the driver in the manual is a professional and the person in the auto is a complete idiot never driven a car in his life before the manual will win.
I understand that... but from the repair standpoint, and the quality I'd rather replace a clutch than a torque converter! and a whole transmission. Plus whats the fun in pushing just one pedal
You have a point there. If i were going to auto-X or drift or something yes a manual would be ideal. But drag racing auto is the way to go. Most drag racers will tell you they have an auto tranny most likely with a shift kit. Hell i work at a ford dealership and i drive manual mustangs, focuses and used cars all day but i still like autos.. manuals are fun for about a week then its just a hassle..
Yeah... I drive a manual every day... Fun sometimes... hassle all the time... But I just trust it more, like the option... These new semi manuals are looking to be the way to go!!! a car that gives you the option to shift or the let the car take control sounds great, but I haven't actually read how they work so i dont know

where is your MAF sensor...how did you bypass it..?
nakars 1 year ago
@nakars its inside the cone, the maf is so huge that the only way to put aftermarket on is to get the same size filter thats on it stock
BrendelxD 1 year ago
@BrendelxD No, it's not. There is no MAF in this car. As I said - it's run on MAP sensor.

Unless you were going down a huge hill, it is a physical imposibility for a 92hp 1.8l motor to move a 2400lb car to 150mph.

I'm guessing that it's a Clutch thats wearing out.
But yeah, I'm planning to flush the tranny and change with a better fluid.
Linkage are fine.
Hopefully not the Synchro.
I'd be broke as hell.

Yeah we have had a few tiptronic or w/e come thru. We have a 08 Lancer on the lot with paddle shifters. Its awesome!

you are wrong. automatic transmission have longer gearing because they have less gears than manuals. which in turn means slower acceleration
