  • ....you asked a question and I gave MY OWN personal view to it. Well, if a 'reading' (on it's own terms) if I understand this, a kind of condensed summarization of a work then I suppose, you achieved this.  But, 'as good as the old PBS version'? You're kidding, right?

  • Well....this is my sincere and candidly expressed honest opinion and that is it's far too glib to bear and to relate a depiction from the author's view about an aspect of the strictness and rigidity of Victorian customs and ways that women of those times were repressed by....

  • Derezer, granted, it was a rushed production. I'm no literary expert but I am somewhat familiar with the subject matter. This piece is supposed to somehow try to depict a kind of effect of overt and explicit Victorian repression and gradual disturbance of a woman, a wife, spiraling towards insanity....

  • I saw the 1989 adaptation of it on PBS on channel 9 hosted by the late Alistair Cooke(?). I didn't know this was based on a short story. Even though I caught the show a little past the beginning I got into it and what happend to the wife actually made me throw up.

  • So was our version at all as good as the old PBS version?

  • Thank you very much. It's very appreciated. The reading was rushed actually. This whole thing was made in about two days. It was a rough schedule but I think we did well with it. And I'm glad to hear you think so too.
