Well....this is my sincere and candidly expressed honest opinion and that is it's far too glib to bear and to relate a depiction from the author's view about an aspect of the strictness and rigidity of Victorian customs and ways that women of those times were repressed by....
Derezer, granted, it was a rushed production. I'm no literary expert but I am somewhat familiar with the subject matter. This piece is supposed to somehow try to depict a kind of effect of overt and explicit Victorian repression and gradual disturbance of a woman, a wife, spiraling towards insanity....
I saw the 1989 adaptation of it on PBS on channel 9 hosted by the late Alistair Cooke(?). I didn't know this was based on a short story. Even though I caught the show a little past the beginning I got into it and what happend to the wife actually made me throw up.

I love the video, the reading sounds rushed at times but overall really well done!
