Thank you, I know because I did a 2nd playthrough and took Bethany & Anders with Hawke to the Deep Roads. Then I could side with the templars and Bethany comes back to fight along side with Hawke. Also you get an achievement of Viscount. But the outcome of the game is the same ending

@Jimboola I think because you can choose to side either with mages or templars Bioware thought noone wants to miss the other boss fight so they made it that both sides had the same boss fights. This fight is a lot more logical when killing the mages. But the fight with templars is random in the other path. (I hope I didn't spoil anything)
