  • Thanks for the tour of the house. Kauai was my first visit to the islands. I was invited by the Hanalei OCC for preparation for my first Lilio race on Kona. I was surprised by the hospitality and friends I made there. Popular hang out for me was the Black Pot.

  • muy bonita, es hermosa, saludos desde corodba veracruz mexico

  • I'm wanting to grow some Bamboo from seed so that I can cut it down and make a garden hut out of it. I plan for the hut to be 3.8meters x 3.8meters. I live in the east of the United Kingdom and I was wondering if somebody could tell me what species of Bamboo would work best for my project.

    Thanks..

  • how many years this kind of bamboo house last?

i think its just a maximum of 20yrs?

    am i right?

  • What would be the total cost?

  • Hi..not sure I understand your question. Do you mean the asking price? Or total cost of purchasing?

  • I looked at this house again this weekend with a buyer. It's now priced at $750K. Still a great house. My client was concerned about what would be built in front, though. It's a good time to make an offer if it's the right fit.

  • I have to say $750K sounds extraordinarily expensive for a Bamboo construction...maybe there are some hidden costs maybe the elevated construction ?

  • Interesting point :) In Hanalei, land is a premium. I don't know the costs of bamboo of this quality, but cost to build a home here is usually a minimum of $250-$300 sq ft, plus extra for Hanalei / Haena area. It's difficult to get materials there. This home has been on the market a long time, and the sellers may be open to lower offers. Only one way to find out :)

  • I stayed in this house Oct. 2008. Its nice!
