if you find ants and want them to live instead of die after a couple of hours when you go to the colony grab about 20 ants and if possible a queen of the same nest(dont go destroying the ant colony looking for one) in the summer and then grab some of the ant colonies outer soil then if possible get some pupa or larva and that will give them a priority to feed the larva what ever you can give them and they will last for about 3-4 months after that if one of the pupa are hatched with wings they
@warriorfar9 may either be males or queens. then you want to let those outside when they start flying around in your ant farm and then when you see a queen drop to the ground after flying with a male pick it up and bring it back to your ant farm and you will then have a queen(this will only work in late spring to late summer) ok i have done this 4 times and i still have 3 of the colonies all doing very well
@warriorfar9 make sure you keep a eye on them and have them seperated from the other mating ants or have a small breeder chamber that you can mate them in.if you dont the queen ant you pick up may be from another colony and your ants will kill it.

@TheAdalaide I've found a lot of ants in my grand parents yard Its so weird that some ants only exist in Niagara falls and can be found in the rain forest in Brunei my home
now ull might need to put like a clear tube in and tranfer it to a jar - put a whole in d jar coner put d tube insie so it will be a connection of tthis 1 and the jar . that is if u stil have the queen and all. then theyy start making more fungus . cause the fungus needs space
