@Sensualsenior Breakcore is characterized as having crazy insane breaks throughout the song. It almost sounds like amens with no clear pattern or timing. Check out artists like FFF, Pisstank, Bong Ra etc...

This has 4/4 kick timing. It uses some break loops for part of the song, but its not as frequent, doesn't resemble amens, and really uses 4/4 kicks although not so obvious. Its called hardcore techno since its fast and hard like hardcore, but is influenced by more techno or techy sounds.

Just becuae you have breaks in a track doesn't make it breakcore. Lots of tunes use breaks in them. Breakcore is when the track is almot impossible to see a pattern beacuse the breaks and amens are so chopped up. It seems as if there is no pattern at all. Thats breakcore.

I agree with you about the breakcore.This is just hellfishstyle, mostly know as uk-hardcore(Not the happy hc kind)Here in the Netherlands anyway.

But frenchcore IS a subgenre on it's own. It's mostly like tekno but then more *core style and it has multiple characteristics that put's a track in the frenchcore genre ie the bpm-range, way the kick bounces(bit like tekno) and more.

It's all house anyways ;) (sub)genres are just an easy way to say what kind of other music is like that. It's all music

Its possible europe has a different system from the UK. In the UK, This is called hardcore techno, and what you call happy hc we call UK. Happy Hardcore was succeeded by UK Hardcore(wiki UK hardcore).

Since the most prolific artist, DJ Producer, is British I feel is should be called Hardcore Techno everywhere, thats just me. Anyone I've talked to calls it Hardcore Techno.

As for Frenchcore, it is a subgenre of Hardcore Techno. Like you said its like techno. Don't believe its all house tho!

Well here hardcore is mainstream hardcore. That came out of early hardcore.

Ofcourse producer and such is also hardcore, but the uk-style is very different with the breaks and lots of hiphop. So that would make it the uk version of hardcore.

The corestyles are based around gabber house, this originated when people started to make house faster en more kick-oriented. First to the oldschool(ie holy noise)then the early hardcore. It took on worldwide and it developed from there.
