  • More cowbell!!!!!

  • @bassmanthreeoffour Guitar army baby, Tampa's favorite sons~!

  • God bless the outlaws forever..

  • what a jingle ... now thats country

  • I guess the Outlaws are doing this "Legends of rock" tour? How does that happen? Hughie and Billy are dead

  • Kind of looks like Legend Valley, Columbus Ohio. somewere around 79ish Allman Bro. Outlaws, PPL , Molly hatchet

  • No Monty, no waterhole!!!! JK, just making fun of all those assholes that say the current lineup shouldnt be around. I love this footage. The new Outlaws rule this song too!!

  • @littlebighank If Hughie's not there , it's not the Outlaws...it's Henry Paul and a bunch of talented guys playing Outlaw songs....nothing against them playing it...just call it the Henry Paul Band ....or even Henry Paul's Outlaws......If feeling that way makes me an asshole, then fine, I'm an asshole.

  • @six2112 youre entitled to your opinion, as are all of these other people. I just think that whoever is left from the original 1975 debut album lineup is out there touring, therefore, they are the Outlaws. Nobody bashes Skynrd cause Donnie or Lonnie or Connie or whoever is singing and not Ronnie VanZant. Nobody jumps on Doug Grey cuz the Caldwells are dead, I don't KNOW that The Outlaws current lineup is the best, I just think its good and they call themselves The Outlaws, so thats what they are

  • Ive seen them a whole lot of times .. and I think that Ive seen them a couple different times when he was wearin that damn cast on his foot... ... love them OUTLAWS.. miss them lots .. wheres the good ole southern Rockers today??????????

  • @bassmanthreeoffour So,where was your exact address...(kidding!!!!)Hell of a collectors peice!!!!!You lucky cuss!!!!!

  • Yeah I saw these guys at "Summers on the Beach" in Ft. Lauderdale around this time. That was a great beach bar to see a show like this. Bummer they closed it years ago when the re-developed Ft. Lauderdale Beach. What a great show they did. Those were the days!!!!

  • sounds like a great version but the sound blows.

  • They absolutely blew many an opening act away...RIP Billy and Hughie.

  • Billy committed suicide, gunshot to the head in 1995. R.I.P. Frank Billy Hughie

  • classic country

  • I can see it plain as day: "come on, flash, lets git them duke boys," as roscoe's cruiser fishtails after the general lee through the backroad of georgia...

  • I got a vid with them playing "t for texas"with Skynyrd!Too awsome for words!!!

  • amen

  • Anyone hear reason Billy died? On drugs? Or meds-the usual reason you never hear of? Have depression? Seen em in a 3000 seat place in Sunrise, Fl back in the day, crazy about em since 75. Early shredders too.

  • Comment removed

  • i got a concert on dvd with them in colorado springs in 1978 they open with waterhole

  • 2:22 ...short but sweeeeet !! Great pickin' ! The good ones always go way too soon, not fair !!

  • I wish I had been there, to see this.

    RIP Hughie and Billie.

  • Billy Jones one of so many incredible underrated guitarists...what really impressed me about him is that he came into the band playing drums but having been so inspired by The Allman Brothers and their album Live At The Filmore East, he learned to play guitar, now that's impressive.

  • One of the best Southern Rock Bands The Outlaws were my favourite since the 70's. It was a pitty when they lost Billy Jones, im my opinion, the soul of the band. Rest in peace, Billy!!!

  • When the Outlaws lost Billy they should have changed the name of the band. They were still a kick ass group but he took too much with him. Don't mean to piss off Hughie fans it's only the way I feel.

  • Very well stated. I agree.

  • Thanks jongreek. Shortly after his death people were looking foward to an Outlaws reunion which made about as much sense to me as a Beatles reunion without John.

  • @catman605 I was skeptical too. I don't want to get into the politics of it all, but the current line up with Henry Paul kicks ass. I know it's not the same without Hughie, but they are very good. I went to see them twice & was totally blown away. They would blow most bands off the stage. Cheers! Mini Outlaw

  • Never heard this one live. Very cool. THANK YOU for posting.

  • Its on their first album with arista.

  • Why in the world did Billy commit suicide?

  • From what I have heard from fans in the know about the band, Billy was a very unhappy cat. It's a shame...loaded with talent, great phrasing and melodic sensibility.

  • Freddie Salem looks like a brother of Gene Simmons & Ron Jermey!

  • the outlaws are more closely related to skynyrd than they are to the allmans. skynyrd and the outlaws are pure southern rock, whereas the allman brothers throw jazz into their stuff. lynyrd skynyrd is really the abolute definitive king of southern rock, and the outlaws are right there with them.

  • @AugieDog6 I agree with your take on the musical styles, however, I like The Outlaws the best. I love their vocal harmonies & their dual guitar solos. I love Skynyrd too, but The Outlaws are my favorite.

    Cheers! Mini Outlaw

  • I AM MISSING you GUYS!!! The Southern Rock World will never be the same without Hughie, and Billy....

  • The shit!!!!!!!!!

  • Great fast country/rock. This could have been good background music for The Dukes of Hazzard as the General Lee car flew up in the air.

  • prime southern rock, any questions?

  • this is right around the time i saw them....they opened up for the allman bros in west palm beach fla. i didnt know who they were but i had 4th row and they blew me away, ill never forget that concert.i have the cd "playing to win" and its still one of my favorites..."were just the players, you are the show" outlaws were awesome!

  • Oh, The Guitar Army, as ever! A shame both Hughie and Billy are gone. I think he passed away just a few years after this recording was made. Rock on 4evah and rip Billy and Hughie.

    ~ Jonny O

  • Billy Jones didnt pass away until 14 years after this show,if you call that a few years.but he left the band the same year as this show.1981

  • hey merle211 we saw them also in the summer of 77 they opened for skynard and it was gaines or rossington lost it and threw a guiter into the first couple rows and hit some poor slop and then when on to knock over the drum set ronnie van zant grab him drag him off stage came back out saying how sorry he was about the whole thing and would make up to the people.after they cleaned up the stage the outlaws and skynard played together rip hughie

  • waterhole was just a ample of what was to come at an outlaws show - 2 hours later an almost 30 minute version of green grass and high tides awaited you. i wish i saw them more than the 13 times i did. the first was at central park in nyc with jefferson starship in 76. the florida guitar army never failed to put on an awesome show. may all the departed members RIP

  • Shit, I'd love to get hit by one of those guitars, as long as it didn't break! (Free guitar!)

  • we will always miss Hughie...and remember Duane Allman...

  • So sad that it takes the great ones leaving us to recognize them. I'm sure when Jack or Jimmy Hall pas, Wet Willie will be the next big thing. Maybe when Charlie Daniels passes, politically incorrect will be correct. My point?....Southern Rock never left us, they got left, and I hope all the greats get their dues BEFORE they go...

  • God bless these two guitar masters!!

  • RIP, Hughie Thommason! he was found dead in his home today here locally in Brooksville, FL. :(

Hughie will be plugging in with Billy Jones,Toy and Tommy Caldwell, George McCorkle and Brother's Duane and Berry tonight!

  • RIP :(

  • Looks like a whole bunch of bikers at this concert. Great guitar and I love this video!!

  • The Outlaws used to open with this song in the 1970's.

  • Billy Jones is Fantastic!! Does anybody know how he died?? I had the privelige of seeing the Outlaws many times; always a great show, highlighted by Billy Jones solos!!!!

  • Billy committed suicide.

  • Billy Jones put a gun into his mouth and pulled the trigger..what an incredible waste of talent..saw the myself a couple of times, once with Billy (and Molly Hatchet) around 1978

  • BILLY Jones is as underratted as [The Bottle] Rod Price.May they both RIP.

  • Three Guitar Army

  • Damulder, you've done it again! Nice work.

  • Been lovin this music since 75...THANK YOU for posting this. Its great to see these guys again.

  • this song always reminds me of a car chase scene. wierd no one has used as such yet, that I know of.

  • If i ever kill someone or rob a bank and then get in a highspeed chase with police, ill be sure to include this on the cd i would play while making my getaway. Prob put the song from Blues Brothers and Breakin the Law by Judas Priest on it as well.

  • Awesome/.

    More.

    More.

  • Great stuff/ this was from a concert in Lorelei Germany/ I saw it once on tv and taped it/ but over the years I lost the tape(a shame)...so thank you damulder for bringin'up good memories...what can I say more/like bodders....we want more PLEASE/thanks- Tjappie

  • holy crap....what else can you say?

  • Incredible. Amazing. Been looking for Outlaws live stuff with Hughie Thomasson & Billy Jones since I discovered youtube. Green Grass & High Tides as well. Thanks damulder. Yer a gem. Any others in the pipeline?
