  • The most beautiful song ever written? Quite possibly.

Andy Bey's version of River Man by Nick Drake is up there too.

  • God, what is this?? This must be from another world!! This cannot be human. Here, Sarah Vaughan surpasses everything and everyone else. She's just absolute!!!

Not to mention the fabulous arrangement.

Thank you so much for this!!!

  • This song was played @ Teena Marie's memorial this past Monday, and it was very befitting and it still resounds in my head. This is a masterpiece. Sarah Vaughn was Teena's all time favorite singer EVER! May they both make beautiful music together in the Heavens. May they both R.I.P.

  • the best song ever made.

  • Sarah can do no wrong. Singing songs based on the poetry of Pope John Paul ll. Enough to make me want to convert. Sumptuous!

  • luv sarah.....and this song 2......drive me crazy in an other dimension!!!

  • i own the original album when it was first released as well as copies on later released c.d.'s. it is the most beautiful music i ever heard. it tells a story. when i knew this album was coming out, i was going to italy. i looked for it there. i eventually got it through a jazz d.j. here is the u.s. he knew someone that had a few copie. it was hard to get. i will always treasure it.

  • Beautiful.

  • A wind stirs in the trees, likre voices in dreams, and then, just when it seems, we know what it means, suddenly it's gone The miracle is the mind asking the questions seeking to find itself, if it can, only to see itslef endlessly echoed in mirrors- the mystery of man
  • Only Sarah had the vocal equipment for such a gorgeous undertaking.

  • Low register, high register she was just amazing.

  • Sarah could sing anything.

  • Love this! Does anyone have or know of the Mark Rapson remix to this song?

  • @PropheticSarahNell It was just released on a 7". The B side is a Carpenters re-edit. It's probably only available from UK shops.

  • Thanks, grish76! Aw man at it only being available from UK shops most likely.

  • Thanks, grish76!!

  • thank you so much for posting this. it means so much to me that i can access it so quickly.

  • can somebody type here the lyrics? as I can not find. Please!

  • it.s a long time since i have heard this. it was an uneven album but you have the highlight. her voice is so warm. she can carress a lyric. a wonderful lady.

  • She's singing like a man

  • No, she does! In fact, Sarah was very proud of her lower register.

  • @dorotttta. thats her voice man, its a dam sight better than most men's voices of that register though. its richer and more lyrical with phenomenal range

  • Could you please post more music from this album?

  • awesome....!!!

  • Mystical and beautiful! I've been meaning to buy this album for awhile, I'm running to get it now. Thanks for posting.

  • classic. thanks for posting this.

  • I've always this album was a masterpiece. More people should know this one - it's sumptuous, and Sarah's melodic embellishments, colourisations, stresses and variations are to be relished and cherished!
