  • its not what i thought, but i liked it, wanna be enveloped in it, in my drive, need mp5 technology

  • i love the way the film is it looks like an old fashioned horror film :) very nice.

doesn't the middle, soft section just kill your wrist? well it kills mine. hahah.

anyway, nice playing. i learned this back in november. i'm gonna go play it again, i haven't played it in so long :)

  • When I learned this my teacher forced me to learn it much faster. =\

  • Bleh. :-)

To me, far faster than this would just feel like doing a huge diservice to the song. I suppose my teacher thought this pace was fine (he never corrected it), that was a long time ago though. Play it at any speed you wish. Interpret it up the wazoo. :-)

  • well done! i love this song, learned it a few years ago. to me it captures romance and some of the angst that goes with it :)

  • And thank you for posting the video! It really helped as I learned the piece. Beautiful, beautiful.

  • I have a slightly different translation on my version: Far away on the rock-coast of Scotland, Where the old grey castle projecteth Over the wild raging sea, There at the lofty and arched window, Standeth a woman beauteous, but ill, Softly transparent and marble pale; And she's playing her harp and she's singing, And the wind through her long locks forceth its way, And beareth her gloomy song Over the wide and tempest-toss'd sea.
  • Never mind I found it my post.

  • Where's my post?

  • I don't like it in my opinion. I am learning this piece. When I have it done, I will post it in youtube so you can compare to my interpretation. It's a romantic piece, not an angry piece. It does not also to me balance with the melody.

  • Great!:)

  • This is my second visit here. I love it so atmospheric just like the poem

  • Perfect. Heres the poem on the top of my version, in case anyone's interested. I think its translated by Macdowell. Far on Scotland's craggy shore. An old gray castle stands, Braving the fierce North Sea; And from a rugged casement There peers a lovely face, A woman', white with woe. She sweeps the harp strings sadly, And sings a mournful strain; The wind plays through her tresses, And carries the song amain ---Heinrich Heine
  • nice. but, i prefer to play it reallly fast. i dont know though...everything gets blurred. but yeah, it is great to play when angry haha.

  • Youn have a lovely touch and such beautiful fingers. Very regal bearing!

  • you are fantastic! Numero uno!

  • here is some more information from wikipedia:

Christian Johann Heinrich Heine (December 13, 1797 -- February 17, 1856) was a journalist, an essayist, and one of the most significant German romantic poets. He is remembered chiefly for selections of his lyric poetry, many of which were set to music in the form of lieder (art songs) by German compo

  • Reminds me of Schubert's musical composition of "der erlkoenig". Pretty cool.

  • yes it does a bit
