It was a design for the time., as 4 banks for 4 sticks of ram was the acceptible limit.
You could get 2, and have them both next to each other. The brackets that hold them to the RAM, comes with 2 types of brackets. 1 set is designed for centerin the cooler over all 4 sticks. The other set allows you to have a bit of freedom to place it over the RAM and slide it back and forth to adjust slightly as your paticular RAM needs.
I used the set that gives a bit of freedod, as the 24 pin connector on mt board is extremly close to the RAM, and would not safely allow me to use the cooler. So mine, is centered, but tilted on a slight angle away from the 24 pin connector by the needed 2 millimeters.
I have a second cooler, that will be for my second project CUBE2, if you need a picture of the 2 types of holding brackets (on the cooler and off the cooler), I can post pics, just let me know.
what the vdo should show us?

Damn, I want one.
I looked this one up and its the OCZ XTC Cooler, which is non flashing blue.
I did a search for his cpu water block, it took me a while and here is what I found.
it is a InnovaCOOL from Innovatek. Highspeedpc has this.
Impressive the amount of work this guy did to change colors and make this a "Green" mod.
