  • Molten bronze and burning oil. Awesome

  • What Health & Safety! Wow!

  • I wonder what it sounds like there... I want to hear the cymbals being born from fire and ash..!

  • @andrben ong your right

  • @betweenthelyons & andrben: no, no that guy definitely has pants on lol. he's the first person you see in the video, yellow shirt and clearly has pants. he steps out of frame for a sec and the next time you see him the light & shadows make him appear naked. damn sure looked like it for a second though lol

  • not cymbals... turkish hash making factory

  • i guess the heat bubbles all the alloys together evenly.

  • A video about cymbal making with no sound.

  • fireproof clothing or camera? hmmm.... let's get the camera

  • Joey, have you ever been in a... in a Turkish prison?

  • i look at my cymbals with more respect now xD

  • i like how they're wearing fireproof clothing lol

  • factory security ....................... FAIL

  • Nice video, but it definitely needs MORE cowbell.

  • it has to be well over 100 degrees in there and they are all wearin jackets and sweatshirts...it has to be miserable

  • [from brazil] how can these guys support the warmth? :O

  • osha

  • easy to see they dont care about health issues or safety.

  • I bet they dont have safety meetings!

  • Kinda looks like their cooking up meth not cymbals lol

  • ha ha i reckon so

  • this has got to be on of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

  • @alexxvall This is Goldman Sachs compared to a manhole cover casting plant in India. I saw photos from one of them, and the people doing the pouring didn't have shoes. Then there is ship-recycling in Bangladesh... Still, it has to be better than being a turkey milker. ;)

  • awesome ghetto factory

it just makes me want these cymbals even more now that i know where they come from

  • sad :(

  • not sad, they have jobs that they probally love

more then alot of people in this world can say

  • This must be the publicity video. They really use 7 year olds in Cambodia.

  • I could not understand which one is the best cymballs, Istanbul or bosphorus?

  • Bosphorus. Most of Instanbul cymbals are sheet and not cast. =)

  • how do you know that...? they both advertize as cast..

  • istanbul for me =)

  • OSHA would love this place

  • So, basically, this is what Zildjian keeps totally secret... Good one for Bosphorus, they revelaed the secret.

  • Stanton Moore should stop endorsing them due to there unsafe work practice. Thry that here in the US and you would get shut down by OSHA. With that type of factory, they should sell them cheaper. I will stick to Zildjain and Sabian.

  • Oh boo hoo. :P lol

  • brand whore haha

  • Exactly!! We dont want those jobs!! And yeah.........the poor should get paid less!!!! Can't find the logic in your statements. And aren't Corporations evil? Why not support the little guy?

  • You know what, these guys have been doing this for a very long time and I doubt any of them would consider working for Bosphorus if they weren't entirely sure that the job was safe.

I would venture to guess that Sabian, Zildjian, Meinl (whose Byzance series are made in Turkey), and Ufip's smelting rooms look the same. If you watch the Ufip video the smelting room does look closely similar. You obviously have never seen a steel mill, there's plenty of videos here on youtube that show them.

  • I can say that I have seen a many steel mills. I have done a lot of painting in them. Seen the effects of molten metal on flesh. Not a pretty picture.

And from what the video show's, it is not a safe working enviroment. You must not be in the US where there are guidlines for keeping your workers safe from injury.

No gloves, safety glasses, face shields, fire retardent clothing, safety shoes with metal tarsels, etc.

don't give me the I don't know what a safe work enviroment is.

  • Ok heres what I want you to do, watch the sabian tour, watch the Ufip tour (Zildjian wont show theirs cause they are top seceret, what a crock) they don't wear anything protective but gloves and aprons, and they use tongs and shovels to move the hot metal. Trust me I wouldn't buy from people if I wasn't absolutely sure that they were safe and their employees lived well.

If you're so worried about it I advise you take it up with Bosphorus themselves, I'm not gonna waste my time on you.

  • zildjian did a factory tour . . .

  • Im a paiste drummer...but I want to buy one of these...Im a metal drummer but also play various styles of music...anyway anyone knows what a good series for my genere....someone told me that the turk series ride cymbal is good for metal...crashing it of course

  • Buy Paiste Wild 2002 it will serve you very well! I have a Paiste wild 2002 17 18 19 crash! And the signatue series in splash is heaven

  • well if its death metal. (guessing from your name) then look up romain goulon. he uses paiste cymbals so try the ones he uses. they sound awesome

  • olum bunlar türko 100 metreden anlarım :P

  • Molten metal and steam is not toxic.... Anyways, I am getting my studio kit together, will have to try them out.

  • That must be REALLY toxic...

  • yeah, absolutely. zildjian is just so mass produced. paistes are okay i guess. i dont particularly like their crashes though, they sound real empty. sabians, meinl and bosphorous are the absolute best cymbals to buy.

  • uh, no? zildjian FOOOOOOORRRREEEEVVVVVVVEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

  • ill agree wit u man. I was playing zildjians for about 2 years (z customs and a customs) but then i needed a new crash so i bought a meinl mb10, and that really changed my opinion of zildjian 4ever. They have a really bland tone, in comparison 2 meinl

  • Bosphorus beats zildjian and paiste combined. They sound so good. The private jet of the cymbal world.

  • its all personal prefferance isnt it. i just love paiste and meinl have some great sounding effects cymbals but iv not really heard much bosphorus. might have to check em out

  • And this for 47 cents an hour!

  • Over here in the UK, Bosphorus aren't particularly well known. I've seen a few players use them, though. I found out about them after asking one drummer what he was using; the sound made me sit up, it was that good. A couple of places deal them here, but you can't get the whole range, as far as I'm aware. They also seem like excellent value.

  • six wooden cases to go, please!

  • Bosphorus cymbals are actually pretty good cymbals.

  • theyre not 'pretty good'. ther the best there is.

  • working in extremely dangerous condition...

  • i wonder if an industrial hygienist did/does any air monitoring to evaluate respiratory exposures? hahaha that's why U.S. industrial base is overseas. we've really evolved as humans, huh?

  • hahaha

  • looks hot, imagine a guy takes one of those frying pans and pours its content on your head............................. lol

  • good one

  • i dont hear any sound? am i the only one?

  • no your not the only one.

  • Can someone say hazardous working conditions?

Spill one of thoes pans on your foot... damn!

Probably allowed to smoke in there.

  • =O la wa

  • wow, old school but modern cymbal perfection

  • bravo, şahane video tebrikler!
