this is one of my 'top' favourites ... i remember kenny everett playing it and I got the bus straight into town and bought it ... all those years ago and it's still as fresh ... sadly he died far far too soon ...but what a good legacy he left ...thanks for posting this shapelander.
This song is amazing. I remember getting this album when it came out in the late 60's and being blown away by his songs. The sad thing is that there are so many young people out there that have never heard this and if they did, they would become Harry Nilsson fans also.
totally gorgeous. Can any other singer protray the drugs and home less situation in such a comfy and we are on the other side of it all. Well done Harry!!!
Man, I know what you mean. This man is seriously the ultimate musician to me. He's the reason I stopped writing and recording music. I haven't been able to write a damn thing since I heard him. I feel like an infant diddling my guitar when I think of his body of work.
wow!!! I would have to say that this is the greatest voical performance i've ever heard! Nothing can or will ever put this song to shame. R.I.P. HARRY!!!
Isn't/wasn't Harry wonderful? Thanks for sharing!!

She holds her hand out waiting for someone to feed her, but no one does ever come her way.
She falls asleep curled up inside the freezing doorway, not a blanket to protect her from harms way.

I love singing along with this song. His voice is totally unshakable.

Phew...man, this songd brings back some very vivid memories. Listening to this cd back in the mid 90's, contemplating the cosmos.

He rhymes so well. I love the instrumental middle.

In a trillion years, throughout the Universe, there will never be another Harry Nilsson. Or will there?

One can hope. Doubt it. But one can hope. So glad my mom and uncle were such huge fans. Have all his LP's. And I do mean vinyl.

It's not very good when this song is your theme song, but it was just that, all this past summer. It's just so broken. I love it.
Shapelander 3 years ago
@Shapelander HA! Unfortunately, my theme song is: "A Day in the Life of a Fool." I my best Sinatra voice (bad) "A day...in the life...an Al..." lol
Warmly,
Al
