Well done, Peter! We are hoping for the same good results for my brother who just got DBS implants and had them connected 5/1/11 at USC. How long did it take you to get back to a normal life after the mapping and adjustments? Medtronics say that some people get results the first day but other severe cases may need up to a year of adjustments. Did you notice stiffness or depression after you were connected? Neil fell several times this week and was bitterly disappointed, but improved slightly.
@kimmer6 Neil showed 70% improvement after the probes were placed but were not wired up. That lasted less than a week. He had Dystonia and could barely speak and shuffled to walk.. I see that comments are 3 years old. Are you still doing well?
my wonderful partner has a similar condition where he has spasms in his face and jaw how were you able to have the surgury where did you go and who did you call? please any infomation you could give me would be a great help , i cant stand seeing my loved one like this and i want to see if he could benifit from this procedure but i dont know what to do ?
Thanks so much for sharing this inspirational video! i'm actually a medical student at uc san diego and organizing a program to inspire local kids to think about a career in medicine. I thought your video was quite amazing and was wondering if we could use it to show the kids how much they could potentially help someone...

I met Peter Haskell in 1985 when he had first been diagnosed with this condition. Thanks for sharing the good news in this extraordinary video. We are thrilled to see the good results of Peter's December 2006 surgery. M Yenik (aka uncoolgranny)
