dolly really messes up this song for me. shes not in the same league as the other two in terms of voice quality, and beauty of voice. im a fan of dolly but i could have done w/o her in this trio. shoulda kept it a duo.

what year was this done? they sound great with the harmonies.....but i would love to hear these three sing some upbeat music....i stopped buying it cause tuscon sessions and the rest were very sleepy, sad and wistful......need to bring it up a notch

It strikes me that each of these extraordinary women defers to the song's mood through gesture and facial expression - I think it is especially noticeable in Dolly Parton's performance because she is usually so effervescent. The bubbly sweetness is still here but its cloaked behind what is clearly heart-felt affinity for the song's (beautifully written) music and lyrics. I think the sincerity expressed by all three peformances is one reason that the video is so touching.
