It's very unfortunate that he died. We'll all remember Mike best as being the infomercial hosts' Sweater Man.

  • i miss mike...and his Amazing Discoveries

  • "It's like word processing but for numbers this time."

  • i really hope this isn't me in like 30 years with some newfangled technology...

  • I also like how they set up computers from different companies. If they run the same OS, what's the difference (besides performance of course).

  • WHOTHEFUCKISAFRAIDOFANIRON?!?

  • COMPUTERSARESOHARD.IBROKEMYKEYBOARD

  • To turn on your computer, simply hit the "power" button! To avoid breaking the computer, keep hammers and explosives away from your computer. It's easy with my Komputer Tutor course!

  • I love Mike Levey. I love Kim Komando. My brain is about to explode like that guy in Scanners.

  • This is pathetic. It isn't another language, it's English, and anyone in high school could understand a computer manual. These video tapes capitalize on weak, stupid people who have a fear of learning. Isn't it great how they talk about different languages and hard to understand words, then the first word of the product is "Komputer?" Sacrifice proper English and good grammar for a failed attempt at cuteness, another method of praying on the weak minded.

  • Wow..Egghead Software...used to spend lots of money when they were around...now I can just get them for free (thanks bitorrent)!

  • To free up disk space on Linux,

    Type sudo rm -rf *

    Enter your password,

    And viola!

  • i... don't remember the plastic pie. :(

  • these used to be on super late, I remember watching them as a young kid on the weekends, usually after SNL...good memories of awful television...I love it...

  • I have these videotapes and I watched them when I was a child. It was back when Windows 3.11 was just getting published, and computers were hard as fuck to use; most of the stuff was command/terminal-driven. To all of you saying "LOL How couldn't they get it?", I could bet you don't have your computer longer than 10 years. Computers are now made so any retard could use them, but it wasn't like that before.

  • @MusicalDesert, right on. Computers have been streamlined and made more accessible for a wider audience during the last 10 years. Wordperfect, Lotus 123, dBase etc. weren't windows-based programs but they were all we had before we got MS Word, Excel and Access.

  • Computers uit de 19........

  • afraid of an iron, yet she will watch the tv, use the phone to order this, and use the vcr to watch. I call shananigans.

  • I wonder if she uses examples from every day life? You know, in every day words you and I can understand.

  • Tamala Daniels looks like a mushroom

  • ...And 20 years on, my grandmother knows how to find porn on the net. Thanks, Mike Levey ! LMAO

  • if i employed any of the ppl saying they learned from that shit, Id definitely fire them for incompetence.

  • Kim with bangs. Wow.

  • How can it be hard to learn a computer that has a GUI

  • i love HOW slow that PC is!

and wow look at all those buttons...all those letters of the alphabet...wow

ya know whats wierd - why they never took this further in the modern day...

ya know "how to use youtube" "how to use facebook!"

i bet ppl would still buy them and you could still make a fortune!

  • @dannyday58218195 They actually DO have books on how to use YouTube, etc- but those books have a language all their own!

  • Too many buttons.....

  • How the hell does a baseball card collecter program even work?

Did he buy a Magic: The Gathering clone or something?

  • Us computer scientists have a language all our own.

  • So Erica West is afraid of computers, buttons, irons, and pretty much all technology ever, yet she runs a real estate office?

Well, I think we just found the source behind the housing market collapse!

  • They applaud her just because she increased the font size in a text. LOL!

  • @KoRnKnoTTeR In the early 90s, that was called "advanced computer skills."

  • WOOD

    ike!

  • This right here makes me believe that some humans haven't evolved much from being APES!!! lol!

  • Designed for people with simplistic, childlike minds. Like Republicans.

  • I'M TOO LAZY TO READ THE MANUAL.

  • whatiwanttoknowishowtodothegapsbetweenthewords

  • I'm terrified of buttons and anything that goes on and off LOL

  • God, never thought I would ever see this again, I remember liking infomercials when I was a kid, no idea why, I just liked watching them even though I never brought anything. Amazing Discoveries was always my favorite ones to watch, I liked Mike, he actually made it a bit more enjoyable to watch then the hosts of infomercials today where they just seem more boring.

  • ''I'm even afriad of an iron'' - You will be bitch one i've smashed this iron round ur face!!

  • This is so awesome... I used to stay up late on school nights to watch these episodes when I was a kid.. over and over..

dos 6.22.. remodeling your kitchen.. mavis beacon.. windows 3.1.. tandy.. oh the memories..

  • The sweater! love it! lol

  • "This is a scary thing right here, the Computer!"

    lol

  • Kim Komando is a "famous" syndicated radio personality. She's totally overrated though.

  • I find it hard to believe that someone with those glasses, that haircut, and that sweater didn't know how to use a computer. It was all an act, I tell you! An act!

  • thank god chuck was there

  • yes mike but how much!!?

  • I think I need this, I still don't know how to use a computer !

  • Yeah, and my professor insisted not to use the spellchecker.

  • whos smarter than a 5th grader?

  • My brother and I actually watched these infomercials all the time. That Mike Levy host we used to imitate and still do. It's too bad he has passed away. He seemed nice.

  • You know, this is the first time I've seen this piece of work here in a very long time. I think I was like 10 or 11 or so when this infomercial was on.

  • I lol'd

  • We set each one up with a different manufacturer! There's one from Candi, Hewlett Packard, etc!

    So....couldn't he just have said..

We set each one up with a different manufacturer, but the same program! There's one from Microsoft! And Microsoft! And Microsoft! Look at all these different brands!

  • Look at all these buttons! This is a scary thing!

  • thanks to komputer tutor im able to get on this site here and post this comment. thanks komputer tutor and kim commando.

  • zip zop zap!

  • RIP Mike Levy

  • There's a wonderfully Tim and Eric quality to this clip.

  • i'm even afraid of an iron!

  • i'm even afraid of an iron!

  • Heh, too funny. Ashame about Mike though, didnt know hes no longer with us anymore :( Poor lil feller. Brings back funny memories, used to see him on tv nonstop in early 90s.

All those shows were so badly acted and scripted though, you can tell as they were talking in the beginning, they speak on a constant cue lol. Lol and that lame guard, i remember him from the other infomercials on Amazing Discoveries. Probably just some dude they pulled off the street, or some garbage man who was on break.

  • hunting :)

  • stupid

  • "DOS and Megabytes and Disc Drives and Floppy Disks? COME ON!!!" Mike was such a silly guy back in the day.

  • I remember megabytes...and kilobytes...I even remember video tapes and Lotus 1-2-3!

  • Not a big deal to "remember" video tapes, since some video stores still have them.

  • CD discs! Gotta love those compact disc discs!

  • I like Tamala

  • Oh my lord. Kim looks so young back then.

I've seen her recently, and she looks so much different.

  • Yeah, she looks even more ravishing!!

  • whish i could grab software off the shelf like that they proboly spent a least $120 on alll that stuff

  • I don't know Word Processing from Food Processing...? lol

  • That's not as bad as the woman who's afraid of an iron. A woman who doesn't iron? THAT is scary!
