it will run for ages, i have a corolla, and i feel most stuff are cheap ,,only engine is good, i like the mirrors opening, nice car actually ,some decent stuff for the Indian people after a long time, i mean the extra things

humm i have the same corolla version XLE amm is a little different than yours well i live in mexico my car is automatic amm the car have a sports wheels and diferent than yours but is the elegant version and sunroof but the car dont have steering wheel controls :/

hay civic rocks but on michelins.. altis is not that good.. i have a older corolla (2005) that is better than civic too... N its more sturdy on highways..

Good video .Altis has a very springy suspension compared to the older corolla. To compensate they have used 65 aspect tyres to suit indian roads. The steering is so smooth , sometimes you feel you have very less control of the car at high speeds. This is because they are EPS ( electric motor controlled) The older corolla is hydralic pump with a pulley attached to the engine. Otherwise the Altis is a great car. I feel we shouldn't compare to civic,given the fact of DOHC and SOHC engines.

DOHC stands for "Double overhead camshaft" while SOHC stands for "Single overhead camshaft".

A camshaft is what helps/controls the opening & closing of the valves.

DOHC is supposed to be more accurate and precise in this operation mainly because 2 camshafts mean, one controls only the inlet valves and the other only the exhaust valves. Where as SOHC, single camshaft controls both, inlet & exhaust valves.

the manual transmission corolla altis is good but negine noise is a little bit loud , gas pedal is very light , speed n acceleration are good , handling is bad , driving position is bad

altis is definitely better than the current civic right now.....but the new civic 2009 for India is not far away.....and then we will see which is better....!!

Hi, thanks. No it doesn't have sunroof option. Price is INR 12 to 15 Lakhs. FE is between 11 and 13 kmpl in city driving. Will post more vidos.
