Because they don't just come to complete stops after they cross the finish line, and they don't want cars goin well over 100mph hitting cars stopped on the track.
hmmmmphh nascars yellow line rule is so stupid!!!! one race its yes its ok, the next its not.... when they have people go below they dont win when they where forced (regan), and if they stay up above the line they cause crashes (edwards).... nascar needs to change!!!!!!
@sportsguruisme actually this crash had nothing to do with racing back to the flag a crash back in 03 is what made nascar stop that rule. But if this crash was on the backstrech they might of let them race back to the flag.
@DJB24966 First off...let me just say that Kyle "Bush" is a cunt and I hatem! The boy can drive..but I (as well as everyone else) hate him! I've been a Gordon fan since his full time cup debut in 93. I was simply saying "he is the new guy to hate" AND they both just so happen to be cocky young guns (especially Kyle!) who are great drivers and even have colorful cars!!! I think you'd agree with me now lol
@laydeezman217 The thing is though, We have a reason to hate Kyle. The majority of Gordon haters were Sr. fans, they were upset that a young kid was roughing up their hero, the funny part was that Dale and Jeff loved it, they were having fun and got along fine. Jeff earned Dales respect.
After Dale passed and continuing until now, Jeff gets mostly cheers instead of boo's.
@skankuser Another thing that has killed this sport is the shitty new Double-File Restart rule. I hate it so much. All it does is lead to more crashes. NASCAR will SO regret making that rule.
@skankuser this is shit!!! racing back to the flag is completely dangerous. NASCAR has made revolutionary advances to make America's most dangerous sport safer.
@skankuser thats not the point... it is to avoid situations. 2003 at New Hampshire, Dale Jarrett crashed on the front, while the field was coming off of 2, and was parked in the middle of the track as the leaders swerved to avoid. this also enables safety crews to reach drivers faster, without worrying about Scott Speed and Dave Blaney going at it for 27th. NASCAR has made changes with 3 attempts at the GWC, so quit bitching. when u become that driver stalled on a race track or that safety...
@skankuser worker out there then u can complain, instead respect the drivers and those workers by complaining about a renovation that THEY requested, that THEY believe is safer. NASCAR's governing body is not satan's little helpers in a press box. they do whats best, and when they screw up, they admit it. not like the NFL or MLB.
@ericstranne I agree with you 100%. Since his rookie season of 2007, JPM has been my favorite driver. But here's one question: If there was no caution, do you think he would've won the race?
kyle bucsh is the best driver out there and not to start trouble but can a dale jr fan send me a message and tell me why he is so damn popular he doesnt win any races
Apparently, NASCAR felt that if Regan stayed on the bottom line above the yellow line, Tony would've saw him, and it would've been a photo finish. This one was pretty easy to see that Kyle was forced, but you're right. It's bullshit. NASCAR supports the teams with all of the money. They tried to show that not being true by giving Keselowski the win. That's all that was, a cover. They could've DQed Brad for aggressive driving.
well thats talledega for you especially on the last couple of laps this is a question for Darrell Waltrip you still take your brother Micheal at the talledega or daytona
1) Kyle Busch went below the yellow line to pass Johnson. AND
2) They threw the caution flag so Montoya couldn't win the race ( but nascar like the pussies they are didn't throw the flag so mark martin could win the 2007 Daytona 500!!!!!)
the reason they threw the yellow here was because the accident was in turn 2, lately if theres an accident in or off of turn 2 they will throw the yellow because some cars dont really slow down until then and they want to give them as much time as possible to slow. they didnt throw it at daytona in the 07 500 because it was coming to the line and they would be well slowed down before they got back around to the scene of the accident.
this is bull kyle made the pass under the yellow line and did not get penolized what the hell regan smith was forced under the line and they penolized him sometimes i just dont get nascar.
He was a rookie... not entirely his fault. If Dale Jr. (the so-called veteran!) hadn't sent McMurray up the hill on a bad bump NONE of it would have happened, period.
Man i saw that race and McDowell spin wasn't bringing out the yellow but then focused on the leader the Big One comes out of nowhere are the sucky Kyle Ass went to win the race. God i hate Ky Busch so much!!!
fuck kyle busch...he wasn't forced under that line....now the fall talladega race was messed up because Regan was forced under that line and they penalized him....nascar rules suck ASS!
i know dude tony stewart won that race off of crap it was regans
also i dont wanna sound mean but in the nationwide race jasson leffler was pennolized 5 laps for "intentionally" recking sombody but dale jrs wreck at daytona could have been called "intentional" but it wasnt and i think its because nascar favors dale jr
dude i agree with you...i think it was intentional because he was pissed at how his day was goin...and ur right bout nascar having favorites like him...i'm a gordon fan but he is def. one of the favorites too...just like Jr. and stewart and johnson
looks like Kyle was forced below the yellow line and NO PENTALY. FUCKING NASCAR. Another reason why Smith should have won last weekend's race. BS NASCAR.
i cant believe they called that caution i dont think kyle would have won he may have but in my opinion he might not have that caution was on the other side of the track it wouldnt have affected the race at all they shouldnt have called that caution
well, uncalled for may be the wrong description but it was a bummer it happened. i would have liked to see this race stay green to the finish, as well as the coke zero 400, last two plate races the race ended under caution because of a pileup on the last lap.
i noeeeee i thought when the season started they would never wreck which is why nascar throws those fake cautions haha but i mean when they wreck its like holy shit! that ruterman crash at texas during qualifying was sooo bad i thought he atleast broke a shoulder, but he just got out and was like waz up? lol
im stupip, why dont you go ask "ruterman" how the wreck at texas was. oh wait, the was MCDOWELL! im sory dat i dnt ndestand ur ciybe talks but yous sounded like Retarded. hows that.
to put it mildy kyle busch is the THE hottest driver right now. he is the best right now PERIOD. its not all about jr all the time fuck! it was a short track incident!
hey johnsonfan45 i am a jimmie johnson fan too but there wasnt a bad finish it was a great finish because they crashed. I only like nascar cause of the crashing
kyle busch sucks? god damn r u fuckas rele that ignorant and jealous caus eur driver is not doing good? kyle is no question the hottest driver right now period. end of story. the jr. suck ups can not like him just cause h got losse, and told the damn truth in the interview, but i mean its called short track racing with a car thats the hardest to drive.
Gordon tried the same thing he used at the fall race last year and it almost worked again, but unlike JJ last year, Busch had the sense to block Gordon, while Montoya then hung Jeff out to dry and got back down to the low line....Huge gamble doesn't pay off, basically you either win the race or you finish 19th, on this day Jeff ended up with the ladder
NASCAR NEEDS to implement a "green-green-white-checkered" at the plate tracks because they're well aware that it takes a lap to get up to speed, dammit
the green/white/checkerd is implemented at all tracks in all series of nascar, its just that the caution came out after the white flag, ending the race.
it would be pretty cool. it would be the second time a replacement for a Chip Ganassi driver won his first race. (remember jamie mcmurray at lowes several years ago)
Hahaha best part of this is David Stremme.
6:03 Jamie McMurray comes up the track into Stremme/Johnson. Stremme's pissed.
6:05-6:08 Stremme riding McMurray's bumper.
6:11- Stremme mashes the gas and hits McMurray again.
6:14- Now Stremme's going way too fast and makes an ARCA-style entry into a wreck he was already in!
Now he's not in the Cup Series. Hmmm...

gordon should have waited till the final lap to pull that move

Gordon tried the same thing he used at the fall race last year and it almost worked again, but unlike JJ last year, Busch had the sense to block Gordon, while Montoya then hung Jeff out to dry and got back down to the low line....Huge gamble doesn't pay off, basically you either win the race or you finish 19th, on this day Jeff ended up with the ladder

Kyle is Amazing!

Busch is a jerk. He ruined Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s chance of winning Richmond. (5-3-08)

NASCAR NEEDS to implement a "green-green-white-checkered" at the plate tracks because they're well aware that it takes a lap to get up to speed, dammit
phantomlord54 3 years ago
the green/white/checkerd is implemented at all tracks in all series of nascar, its just that the caution came out after the white flag, ending the race.
jrfan07 3 years ago
I understand that, but at the plate tracks there really should be 2 green laps, then the final lap, then the checkered
phantomlord54 3 years ago
Yes I do remember that.
I also half root for Brian Vickers in every race.

Im a jeff gordon fan, but I wish there was a first time winner in this race. How cool would it be if stremme got the win driving as a replacement?
llama62 3 years ago
it would be pretty cool. it would be the second time a replacement for a Chip Ganassi driver won his first race. (remember jamie mcmurray at lowes several years ago)
