There was also a poster which had the WTC refelected in spider-man's eye. This too was also dropped but not all of them. Some today go for a lot of money.
The entire point of American Super-Heroes is to show American Nationalism. But Bat-Man: The Dark Knight had to go and ruin it all by making super-hero films "dark and gritty". That's not the point. The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 may be "more true to the comics", but the reflection of pure American Culture in Sam Raimi's films makes them a relic that Mark Webb can have no hope of topping if he decides to follow in the footsteps of the highly overrated Christohpher Nolan.
I remember seeing this when I was at the peak of my fascination with Spider-Man comics and thinking that this movie was everything I could have hoped it could be. Let's hope the next one is just as good.
this was probably meant to be the big reveal of spiderman in the movie which he doesn't really have he's just sort of there but they cut it shame it's a pretty cool scene
This is the original trailer I saw when I went to see a movie back in 2001. When I saw the helicopter stuck in the web I was like "Spiderman?" and when the trailer ended some guy in the back of the theater yelled out "I'm watching that one!" We all laugh. To bad they had to cut this part because of the WTC.
Wow, it was about a 3 second clip of the 9/11, and this is a damn awesome awesome trailer, and people are just argueing about freakin conspiraces? Save it for the forums guys, this is for Spider-Man.
guy's remember the final frame of the film where he's on that pole? originally that was gonna be the world trade centre, but they hadn't rendered it yet so it was changed to what it was after that september day
When I first saw this trailer it was the illest shit, it was bullshit they took it down becuase of 911 when everyone got so sensitive. Thanks alot Bin Laden.
@MrJackal95 Are you truly seriously that thick? Osama Bin Laden is dead you idiot, he died like way back in the 1990's, the guy that you see in all the videos is an Ex. CIA agent called Timothy Osman. Osama Bin Laden's son has stated numerous times that the man in the video IS NOT his father.
@MrJackal95 Sorry to burst your bubble dude but he's dead. Osama Bin Laden was officially declared dead on February 1st 2001, he was buried in Tora Bora and the funeral was attended by close relatives and friends. Here's a quote for you... "(Osama bin Laden) suffered serious complications and died a natural, quiet death. He was buried in Tora Bora, a funeral attended by 30 Al Qaeda fighters, close members of his family and friends from the Taliban. By the Wahhabi tradition."
I remember this trailer distinctly. Haven't seen it since it first showed up on the Net. I knew YouTube would be the place I could find it. I also remember how stoked I was after seeing it; and now we all know how those shitty movies turned out, too.
My teacher was talking about this trailer today. I can't believe I didn't know about it, seeing as how i'm a movie buff. Then again, I was only nine when this movie came out. I barely understood 9/11 when it happened, and I still have so much to learn. I don't live in NYC nor do I know anyone who does, so that's probably why I know so little. BTW, did you know that there's actually a special issue of Spiderman about 9/11. Lee did it since Spiderman lived in NY. It sounded like a great issue.
If they didn't show Spidey afterwards, I would have thought this was going to be a movie about a giant spider attacking New York, ha. Funny how the opening stuff isn't even from the movie.
While I think Spidey 2 is the best, I loved Spidey 3. It did seem they were trying to fit too much into one movie, but it still worked for me. Mainly I think it just let down hardcore Venom fans and I can understand their annoyance at that, but it was still a great movie and did a good job of having multiple villains. Some people didn't like the "funny moments", like Peter dancing, but I did. Can't wait for part 4.
Incidentally, just got the new Batman videogame for PS3!
There was also a poster which had the WTC refelected in spider-man's eye. This too was also dropped but not all of them. Some today go for a lot of money.

Type "World trade center in popular culture" into Wiki and see how many films the WTC starred in. They were ugly as hell but I miss them.
blazak 2 years ago
Right, so are they also going to censor every one of those movies and TV shows it appeared in? I don't think it was necessary to drop this trailer.
