  • didn't know they had internet in 80s?!!!

  • @mrinvincible2001 right, i thought the same thing!

  • Kenny Everett was an old FAG. He got married to a woman yet he was a shit shover who done spermy shits. The little fag died of AIDS. Good thing I say!

  • @71shoelover - Can we flag a comment for homophobia? Or just plain dickheadedness?

  • Kenny - your comedic genius, your outrageous characters and your downright naughtiness will be missed. The world is now a slightly darker shade of political correctness for your passing.

  • Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra did this first back in the 60s. The clip of it is on Youtube .

  • Cleo was fine as hell back in her day it seems

  • Cleo Rocos, I want you! =)

  • I just liked him.

  • That was real good ;-) makes me smile , it's a shame nobody does anything like this these days

  • Have you got anything in black?

Wouldn't get away with that nowadays!!!

  • omg, that's lionel from as time goes by

  • Does anyone know where I can find the Kenny Everett clip where he goes up to an 80's style video game machine, puts money in it, and it's like being at a disco? It's hilarious, these arms come out and grab him and say to him "Let's dance". This pint of beer comes out and intentionally spills on him, a foot treads on his, just like a real nightclub! Hilarious stuff, a link would be greatly appreciated.

  • Joanna sounds like a disciplinarian school marm or something....

  • Joanna Lumley on Kenny Everett. Cool. Sapphire and Steel - Genius.

Ohhh....that accent she has does things :-)))

  • Why don't bbc 3 or 4 repeat all his comedy shows kenny was a comedy genius.

  • @MsFanmail well.. the stuff here was recorded from ITV as far as i remember.. but certainly BBC has a whole lot of this stuff.. you the general audience could 'n should awaken BBC!

  • @TURKUAZZY .Have you ever tried to communicate with the BBC?

All one gets is a patronizing, parsimonious, "we know best little boy" type reply.

I think you will find a lot of the programmes have been sold to commercial companies, hence the big bonuses paid to BBC managers. Then of course the public can buy them, having already paid for them through the tax you paid to the BBC in the first place.

  • Ah, the good old days. Back when comedy didn't give a $*@& about P.C.

  • did you know that one of kenny's writers and co-directors and fellow friends was micheal mcintyres dad

  • A comedic genius.

    A true legend.

    Today's comedians don't come close.

    Sadly missed

  • It is heartwarming to come on here and see all the respect people are paying to Kenny. He was a genius entertainer and is sorely missed. THANK YOU to everyone who's made a kind comment in his memory. :-)

  • the first bit is similar to an old Dean and Frank skit! But Kenny was a genius;watched his show all the time when I was a kid!

  • I saw Dean Martin and Sinatra do a version of this dating service skit. I wonder who did it first.

  • I saw Dean Martin and Sinatra do this same dating service skit. I wonder who did it first.

  • "...I know nowadays everybody does everything to everybody all over the place...". Excellent.

  • i wish Joanna Lumley would insist I asked her for what I really wanted. Her lovely voice. She just makes it sound soooo horny.

  • Kenny Everett was Banned from radio for saying "When England was a kingdom, we had a king. When we were an empire, we had an emperor. Now we're a country ... and we have Margaret Thatcher".

    Genius.

  • classic!!!

  • I feel luck to have grown up listeningto Kenny on the radio, and on TV. He was the best, but my mum hated him! RIP Maurice Co1e!

  • lol. Have you got anything in black. You just wouldent be aloud to do that these days. Kenny was no longer on air when I was born but thanks to youtube I can enjoy the work of this true legend over and over again.

  • I get your point and you may be right in some aspects but nevertheless I think if he were alive today he would behave the same. after all he uses word 'black' in some other context than you actualy mean so it wouldn't be a problem at all for it depends on one's intention when he says black. as long as he doesn't intend to embarrass someone it should be ok. anyway it is one particular joke that I like most and I'm glad you liked it too.

  • @TURKUAZZY Aye. Kenny never went out to offend anyone, but he didn't let people dictate his humour. He was thrown off BBC radio for making a joke about Thatcher: When England was a kingdom, we had a king. When we were an empire, we had an emperor. Now we're a country ... and we have Margaret Thatcher

  • Could some Everett nut please put on a Julian Smythe clip? I ain't seen that character in eons. Ta.

  • Do you mean julian mince? he was the outragious toff, who was telling jokes outside a mansion house, while trying to pour a glass of champagne.

  • Is that Joanna Lumley from ABFAB at 2:10.

  • great acting! extraordinary! one must give credit to the script writer(s) they do deserve it.

  • In our lifetime we are lucky to come across a true genius maybe once or not at all,i feel very lucky to have watched on the tv,and listened on the radio to a true genius. In my lifetime, and yes i did see and hear kenny everett at the actual time he was broadcasting.

  • Yes he was one of a kind, a genius of sorts, i do miss him, but i have his video shows to remind me of how he made millions laugh out loud

  • In a persons lifetime you are only likely to come across a true genius only once or maybe, not at all.

To me i am very lucky to have lived during kenny everetts tv/radio shows ,he is/was a true genius in every sense of the word.

I honestly do not expect to see another.

  • great conversations..good sketches especially the last one! it was hillarious!

  • kenny was great..i didn't know he died 13 years ago since i was outside UK nearly 20 years. we will deeply miss him very much. I hope he rests peacefully!
